Now this is glorious. Unfair... maybe. I think that the main team at fault here is the Rockets. A team that isn't owned by the NBA. I think their decision making is completely misguided. I don't think Martin, Scola and Odom are a terrible package for Paul.

But still, i'm so glad this is happening.

The NBA has caved to pressure from owners that the appearance of this deal, on heels of lockout, had to be stopped, sources tell Y! Sports.

"The deal is off," a source involved in the talks tells Y! Sports. "It's dead."

All the players have been told to report to their teams for the start of training camp on Friday.

Well, the lockout wasn't a total waste. Now Morey needs to be fired.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Honestly, this isn't fair... What's wrong with the trade..?

Because LA just got gift wrapped Cp3 and were definitely preparing to make a run at Howard. Another super team in LA when the whole league is crying about Parity. It also makes no   sense that the Hornets would take a package of peaked role (Kmart, Scola, Odom,)players over Rondo Green 2 first round picks and players from a 3rd team atleast not to me. The whole trade makes it feel like LA has friends in NO.

People are p---ED over on the Hornets forums.  They actually liked the Lakers deal.  It seems like no one over there is even considering the celts deal.  Theyre all saying the only good thing that could come out of the deal being held up, is if the clips and warriors sweeten their deals.  Boston really isnt even in the running to them.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Bet they turn around and get Howard for the same package...

According to reports, Otis Smith is not taking any calls on Dwight Howard. They want him to play out this season.

Why not, it worked out great for Cleveland 2 years ago.

In Cleveland's defense, they were trying to win a title that year though.  Orlando isn't a contender right now.

On what grounds is this getting killed?  I suppose I'm happy for anything that puts the screws to the Lakers, but I'm not sure why this trade was so egregious that the owners would see fit to kill it.

Am I missing something?

LA Clippers is too good of a fit for them to give up on CP3 - even if they have to give up Eric Gordon too - the Blake/Cp3 combo would be great for years to come. But I actually think a package of Aminu, Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, and that Minny 1st would get it done.

Well, if they killed it because of the appearance of impropriety, he's definitely not coming here either, or to New York for that matter.

I'm happy they didn't get Paul, but what an embarrassment to the league on the heels of the lockout.  They should've sold the team or folded it before anything like this came up.

Two sources confirm reports that CP3 to Lakers three team deal has been put on ice, perhaps permanently. Source: "Chris is really upset."

Does Orlando say no to Bynum and Gasol for Howard and Turkoglu? They could make it a three way deal and get Martin, Scola, Dragic and a #1 for Gasol. Those four players and getting out from under Turkoglu's deal is a pretty good haul for Howard.

The Lakers will be better able to win a title with Howard and Odom as opposed to CP3 and Bynum.  Having a top PG with Kobe is a luxury.  A top big is a necessity.

I don't think Celtics deal will work without owner protest either.  Paul will end up being traded to GS or Houston and signing with Knicks as a FA next summer.

Where can you see other teams forums? Mind linking a brother up?
