I don't blame Bon Iver. His music is putting me in a slightly better place right now.

So basically you crossed the line, and you'll let God decide?

fyi Bon Iver is not a person; Bon Iver is a band.

Justin Vernon is the lead singer of Bon Iver.

its the Agents, Hunter and the guys like KG/PP/Kobe who are against this deal.

Kobe was pretty vocally for taking the deal, according to reports.

And they must be very persuasive, because the player reps voted 30-0 for the disclaimer.  Lots of midlevel and vet min guys in that group.
Kobe has always, always been about himself. He was the only one to vote against the last CBA too.

He doesn't want to lose a year when his window to match Jordan's title total is close to its end. Especially when given the phase in of the new rules his career would largely been untouched.

Owners.

They didn't like what was happening within the previous CBA.

So they are the ones who wanted to change things. If you want to change things, you initiate the negotiations.

When you initiate with the other party, you have to offer up something during that negotiation.

From the very start, what the owners did was not negotiate. They made DEMANDS.

Those demands were "water-less". Those demands were not going to be met and the owners knew this. That is shady dealings already.

The only side that has been truly negotiating, is the players' side.

And now the players have come to a point where they are finished giving and giving.

You forgot to add an option:

E) David Stern
F) All of the Above

Everybody gets blamed here.

Owners - Pure Corporate Greed and Browbeating multimillionaire entertainers that do the work for them.

Players - mostly Player Reps for rhetoric against the owners

Player Agents - Looking out for themselves - They were going to be the big losers in this deal.

David Stern - His clearly pro-owner rhetoric to the media. He did not have to go public with his ultimatum. That angered the players.

The NBA deserves to go out of business and the have not franchises need to disband or form a B - League.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I just have a hard time blaming the owners in this...its understandable to say "why give the owners a get out of jail free card" but when 17 out of 30teams in the NBA are losing $$, something obviously was wrong with the system.

who is to say that the Owners havent made compromises as well?? supposedly they have budged off of issues such as the hard cap etc.

I just think that when you look at these sort of issues...the player always lose. happened in the NHL, happened in the NFL..and i guarantee it will happen in the NBA.

and for all these nba players with their phony "Let us play!!" PR campaign...they sure dont seem to care to play if they wont take this offer.(probably the best offer they will get)...they're out for themselves and the $$(just as the owners are) and its about Pride, posturing and trying to make it look like they put up a fight when its a losing cause.

I just dont see how the players have any leverage and I think Hunter/the owners know it. But no one wants to come off looking like they gave up. so its stubborn-ness

its like the Jets fourth quarter drive last night when they were down 37-16. you know they're gonna lose. but they decided to be agressive anyway so you can go home and say "hey i at least put up a fight!" even though in the end it doesnt make a difference..you still lose

I blame the NBA.  The players, the owners both the union and the league.  Oh, well, our big three is gone most likely at least two out of three will be.

Stern, with his ESPN interview, was doing work on making sure the public blames the players. I hope some day in the future, maybe in his memoirs, that he can admit that he and the owners made some huge mistakes in all this too.

His claims that this will not work are fabulous and may be correct, until he has to go to each of the owners who will be receiving no revenue and ask each of them for a check for $33 million to pay back the national television networks.

owners.

They all make money when they sell their team (and write off any "losses" while they own the team). I don't buy their claims of losing hundreds of millons.

I'm critical of the NBPA's strategy -- but from a strategic standpoint; they seem to not be working like a good rank-and-file union with everyone involved, but that's just the look from waaaay outside.

IMO the players' play on the court is the product of the NBA and only the players can produce it.... they should make more than the owners.

If there are so many NBA teams losing money, then close the plants down.
