I would not mind moving up in the draft. I am not sure how far, but I would trade #18 plus a player for a higher pick.

Which player you ask? That depends on the pick that I would be receiving.

Also, if someone has a second rounder that they are willing to part with, let me know. I would flip an end-of-the-bench type player for a #2.

Yeah, I won't go back again on opening up the floor to trading.

But I still think waiting a little longer wouldn't be a bad idea. Still plenty of NBA player movement to be seen this offseason.

Then again, they say that fortune favors the bold. Just remember they also say "caveat emptor."

I have received information on two agreed-to trades that involve next year's draft picks.

As far as I can recall, we haven't OK'ed trading future draft picks on draft night. Personally, I think it's a very bad idea.

I do not have the league constitution handy (on my work computer, apparently), so I can't confirm exactly what our league rules specify about trading future draft picks on draft night.

Until I do, I won't be announcing any trades that involve 2013-14 draft picks.

generally speaking all my draft trades involve getting picks for next year.  I would have very little desire to trade if I couldn't pick up future assets and it would seem to make the draft fairly complicated if I couldn't.  Actually I think every trade I ever made involved a discussion about future picks. I guess in this case I would like rondo2287 to pick for me at certain places. I hope I can be there during drafting.

I thought we had ok'd trading next year's pick by draft day. I don't see any harm in this, it stimulates more trading, and allows teams that are rebuilding to make serious ground towards rebuilding.
