I talked to Lucky and I think it would be in the best interest of the league if the top 5 protection was waved and I no longer have my first rounder. It seems to be the fairest thing to do.

I'm jusssttt thinking out loud, but it strikes me that in theory in a vacuum we should sorta do what they would do in the nba. If there's a protection you don't get the pick. However in the nba, whenever there is a protection uuuusssuuually the protection says if the pick isn't gotten that year, then they get it the next year, right?

I definitely think going forward we should definitely only allow one year at a time trades, like trading next year's pick, but that's it (which I guess we're already doing), because owners change for various reasons.

Just a quick update.  So after the Webskins graciously unprotected their pick it gave me the first overall pick.  I talked to Utah (MK) and we both agreed that he would not have given up that Webskins pick so easily had it not been protected.

I am giving Utah back his first round pick as compensation and I think this should straighten us out  Here is an updated draft board as i see it.
