First trade to announce:

Utah Flash sends:
Brook Lopez, Goran Dragic, Reggie Williams, Jerryd Bayless, and #37 pick

Toine's Boys send:
Bismack Biyombo, Donatas Motiejunas, Tobias Harris, Jon Leuer, #3 pick, and #31 pick

any thoughts on the deal? I always love to hear people's opinions, good an bad, especially TWW's.

There is a follow up deal to announce that compliments it though.

I like it better for you, but it comes down to how good Motiejunas turns out to be.  Flash usually comes out looking pretty good when he deals, so I guess I need to withhold judgment.

At this point you have the best player and second-best player in the deal.  But there are some possible high-end guys at #3, and Motiejunas and Biyombo seem like they could be quality players.

Right now on paper you came out better in my eyes.  If some of those prospects hit it big or Lopez continues to regress/get injured, it'll be Flash.  It's a wait-and-see to me.

Yeah, the way I see it too. Too many variables right now to declare a clear winner.

Thanks for the opinions. I'm very happy with the deal, as I really needed a legit pg and Dragic is ready to deliver, and I have been after Lopez for a while. I agree with Roy though that Mk always comes out looking good in the end, and I am very high on Montiejunas, I think he is going to be a great player, but I needed a few sure bets on my roster instead of a list of prospects.

I think Bayless and Williams also help sure up some depth on my team, Bayless should do well in memphis.

Tough deal for me to make, but there's a guy I've really wanted in the draft, and his name's not Anthony Davis so I'm 99% sure I'll get him.  Wes Johnson may well wind up starting at 2 for Phoenix so I'm taking a flier on his production improving.

This also complements another deal that I agreed to earlier but hasn't been announced yet.

I think allowing 1/3 of the league to veto a trade is ridiculous.

In hindsight, does anybody really believe that KG + Odom + #4 pick for Steph Curry (and his 26 games played) + #18 was a trade that should have been vetoed?  That veto was never about fairness, though; as people basically admitted at the time, they didn't want to see the "rich get richer".  (Nice one...  now the "rich" have KG, Odom, and a high-lottery pick instead of a point guard coming off a bad season and something like seven ankle injuries and multiple surgeries.)
woosa Roy...woosa. Last year is over.

Last year is over, but I'd like the rules to limit the ability of a small minority of GMs to override fair trades.

pretty even deal imo but I like it more for you than for Bacon. I think Bacon gave up a potential all-star at #2 for two guys who are good players but may never reach all-star level. Still, the #2 pick may end up being a bust and Kemba and AB are legit NBA players who will do well for a long time.

That's pretty much how I see it.  Superstars win; I think there's a better chance of drafting a superstar at #2 than in hoping that one of Kemba, Bradley, or the #11 pick develop.

Strangely enough, I agree with Roy. Yeah, I know who would have thunk it.

But really, in a 20 team league it takes just 7  votes to veto a trade. That's wrong. it should be 50% minimum. This is the first league I have participated in where a less than 50% number was allowed. So often a vocal minority can get....uppity.... and start demanding a vote and suddenly a minority of owners have control over who goes where in trades.

I say up it to 50%
