Have we settled when we can actually start making trades, and when the draft will be?

No; the middle of the week following Labor Day.

I know the commish is a busy man but can we maybe decide on a date?  Seems like people are ready to start making deals.

Anytime from ~2 weeks before the draft til 5 minutes from now works for me.

I can give you a range: one of the following days:

Wednesday, Sept 8
Thursday, Sept 9
Friday, Sept 10

beginning at 1 PM Eastern (10 AM my time). 10 minutes between the first 20 picks, 5 minutes between the remaining 20. That comes out to 5 hours.

We'll do the H2H rookie draft one day, the points league the next.

Sorry, I obviously misread that.

I am going on vacation in mid-August, and can't swear that I'll have access to the internet or the time/inclination for trade announcements. So that might also be a consideration for opening the trade floor up again on Sept 1.

For whatever reason, we seem to get less activity on Fridays.  It might be better doing it during the following week.

How about wednesday or thursday, the 5th or 6th of september? I will also be away for the last 2 weeks of august, but will be back and totally free the first week of september, and any day that week would work really well for me. If not though, I can find a way to manage if it's after that.

Me too, but maybe for selfish reasons - I have a lot of picks and want a bigger window to make deals.  And I think Labor Day Weekend will be very spotty for owner availability.

I think you're looking at the August calendar - the 7th is the Friday after Labor Day, not Tuesday. 

If we're gonna do it that week I might prefer Thursday for the reasons I mentioned above.

I am not around labor day week. However, I only have the 37th pick, so don't make any accommodations for me. If Thursday the 6th or Wednesday the 5th is the preference then I will submit a list to Lucky ahead of time.

I will note that I picked Chandler Parsons with the 37th pick last year... just saying!
