While I'm at it, another reminder: we move to 12 teams participating in the lottery this year. All non-playoff teams will have a shot at a top-3 pick, just as in the NBA.

We'll know the results of the lottery next month. Our draft will be held in early/mid September, to give us all a chance to see how the rookies and undrafted players are doing in the summer leagues.

As for reopening trading, I am reluctant to do so before we know the results of the lottery. Feel free to try to convince me otherwise.

I'll try to convince you to stay that way - draft position is gonna be really important.  Come on #5, 11, and 12!

Question for when trades do open - I'm pretty sure we agreed to allow trades of next season's draft picks.  Can that be done before the actual draft, or does it have to be draft day only?

I still am extremely hesitant to allow draft picks beyond the upcoming year to be movable in trades, including trading for 2013 picks during our upcoming draft. Did we have an actual vote on this?

Edit: I see we must have: the draft constitution GC and I have been working on clearly says:

"Future draft picks may be traded on draft day, but no further than one year into the future. This is also true for trades made after the draft or during the regular season."

We voted on it, I think, and I agreed that we can trade next year's picks starting on draft day.

Yes, we agreed on this at some point.

Lets just hope that nobody trades next years draft pick and then becomes inactive
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

So, I took a crack at the draft order. Lucky and GC should certainly check my work.

*1. Make Me Some Bacon (via Toine's Boys)
*2. Toine's Boys (via Make Me Some Bacon)
*3. Boxer Rebellion (via Juggernauts)
*4. GomesFan
*5. Rusted Rims
*6. Rubio & Friends
*7. Y'all Hate (via Lucky17)
*8. Larry Bird 17
*9. Birdman
*10. Designated Drinkers (via Blake)
*11. Rusted Rims (via Webskins)
*12. Rusted Rims (via Gainesville Celtics)
13. Juggernauts (via Utah Flash)
14. Kwhit10
15. Make Me Some Bacon (via Designated Drinkers)
16. Password is Taco
17. Toine's Boys (via Harden's Homeboys)
18. Make Me Some Bacon (via Boxer Rebellion)
**19. Make Me Some Bacon (via Ya'll Hate)
**20. Rusted Rims (via Draft Dodgers)

21. Kwhit10 (via Toine's Boys)
22. Webskins (via Make Me Some Bacon)
23. Birdman (via Juggernauts)
24. GomesFan
25. Kwhit10 (via Rusted Rims)
26. Rubio & Friends
27. Lucky17
28. Larry Bird 17
29. Birdman
30. Blake
31. Make Me Some Bacon (via Webskins)
32. Gainesville Celtics
33. Designated Drinkers (via Utah Flash)
34. Rusted Rims (via Kwhit10)
35. Kwhit10 (via Designated Drinkers)
36. Password is Taco
37. Utah Flash (via Ya'll Hate)
38. Draft Dodgers
39. Gainesville Celtics (via Harden's Homeboys)
40. GomesFan (via Boxer Rebellion)

*Final order to be determined after the NBA lottery.
**The 2012 runner-up and winner are awarded the 19th and 20th picks respectively.

Not exercised
Toine's Boys held the right to swap Make Me Some Bacon's 1st with the Designated Drinkers' 1st

Questions
Utah Flash receives the lesser (i.e. worse?) of Gainesville Celtics or Y'all Hate's 2nd round picks. If so that's Y'all Hate's 2nd accounted for, but who then receives Gainesville Celtics' 2nd?

I was unclear on who, between the Rusted Rims and Kwhit10, held the prerogative to swap 2nd round picks?

And then IF I got the above draft order correct I believe the below managers have their fates aligned to the following NBA squads.

1. Make Me Some Bacon - Charlotte Bobcats
2. Toine's Boys - Washington Wizards
3. Boxer Rebellion - Cleveland Cavaliers
4. GomesFan - New Orleans Hornets
5. Rusted Rims - Sacramento Kings
6. Rubio & Friends - Brooklyn Nets
7. Y'all Hate - Golden State Warriors
8. Larry Bird 17 - Toronto Raptors
9. Birdman - Detroit Pistons
10. Designated Drinkers - New Orleans Hornets (via Minnesota and L.A.)
11. Rusted Rims - Portland Trailblazers
12. Rusted Rims - Milwaukee Bucks

You've got it right.  I gave up that right for the ability to have the unstoppable force of Trevor Booker on my squad.  All my other picks are right too.

Lets just hope that nobody trades next years draft pick and then becomes inactive

Couldn't they do that anyway, but they just had to wait til the day after the draft, instead of the day of?

That's a solid trade. He's a young player I like a lot.

Ya of course they could, I'm just thinking it would stink for somebody to inherit a team with no picks coming out of this years draft and no picks for next year too.  But it could happen your way as well

The Walker Wiggle, benefiting from a stroke of divine providence.

That's twice he's won a title he hasn't deserved.

Okay the hour is nigh, who's going to double check my lottery seeding? Anybody nervous? I'm going to say Rick, and the Bacon, have the most at stake, having moved first #1 pick Kyrie Irving and then #1 pick Blake Griffin for a shot at #1 pick Anthony Davis. Obviously neither Roy nor YH needs the help.

Personally I'm pulling for NOLA and the Brooklyn Nets (as I now own a third share of two season tickets) so by extension GomesFan and JGod. And I'd love to see the Warriors lose their pick to Utah by virtue of a lower seeded team leaping into the top 3 (long suffering Toronto or maybe Detroit?).
