Yeah, Bacon, I hate that one for you.  We all love Rondo, but I think you gave up too much to get him.

Still, who knows?  West is recovering from a serious injury, so maybe his career gets cut short, and maybe Budinger, Mozgov, and Tyler develop more than I expect.

Ya, once I found out rondo was available i tried to make a run at him but i couldnt compete with this.  Your are talking about 3 starters, including one all star big man, for rondo and 3 lottery tickets

Like Roy says, who knows? Rondo means your team is in contention for assists and steals each week. Budinger was showing signs of breaking out late last year, and Tyler can be a stud or a bust, but will take 2-3 years to develop. Mozgov is a mystery still. If 1 or 2 of those 3 reach their potential Bacon can end up very well in the deal. On my part, I wanted a PF and some scoring, and got both.

I knew this would be most GM's reaction to this.  Hp and I went back and forth about, oh, 659 times on offers.  I was worn down to a point but I know I got the best player in the deal, there are ??'s surrounding all of the players I shipped out and I really like the potential for Budinger and Tyler.

Again, I realize I overpaid here.  I told Hpantazo that many times.  I just think that for my team, it does make some sense.  West wasn't sticking around and who knows what will happen with stuckey or Young.

My core is now...

Rondo
Ed Davis
Wes Johnson
DeAndre Jordan
Jeff Teague
Bismack Bitombo
Chase Budinger

That is some young, raw talent.  I realize I won't contend any time soon, but this is where I want to be at this point - and I don't feel I'm in THAT bad of a position.

I can vouch that Bacon clearly knew he was overpaying and said so often, but I was honestly quite content on keeping Rondo and Budinger unless I got blown away by the offer, and Budinger is one of Bacon's favorites, as Montiejunas is one of mine, these things tend to factor in even though they shouldn't.

You gave up too much but I don't actually hate the deal. And I hate a lot of trades. You did get back the best player. And of course I'm the biggest MOZGOV fan on the boards. I'm also the guy that first drafted a rookie Stuckey but I'm starting to believe he's more a sixth man combo-guard. Detroit did add Brevin Knight.

I do find it odd to again read a manager partly justifying a losing deal, by saying he got "worn out" or "worn down" from long negotiations.

I knew this would be most GM's reaction to this.  Hp and I went back and forth about, oh, 659 times on offers.  I was worn down to a point but I know I got the best player in the deal

There's never been less urgency to make trades. Make another offer to a manager that's not online much, or privately get a second opinion. Anyway that's what I do. Just never ask that con-artist, Champkind.

Avery Bradley is officially on the block now that ETwuan Moore is in the house. Can't have room for 2 celtics prospect SGs. Anyone interested?

Oh, also, even though I just said there is no urgency to make trades, I also have a trade waiting approval. I'm only human.

The Walker Wiggle's Draft Dodgers send: Ray Allen - may the good leprechaun forgive me.

Kane's Webskins send: Caron Butler, rookie Marcus Morris, and the right to swap 2012 1st round picks.

a win for the WW imo. Butler alone should match Ray's value going forward. Getting Morris and the right to swap 1st rounders is a steal.
