In fact I like him so much I'm willing to retract my "advantage Martin" and change it to "small advantage Martin."  How about that  8)
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't know, nick.  Mike Miller sucks, and would bring down that entire starting lineup.  I'm also not a big Diaw guy at this stage.
Well, I agree Miller sucks. Can't stand him. But I think Diaw a very good defender and passer and great compliment player.

Miller would be a huge hole for that team all by himself though, can't argue with that.

Okay maybe not Portland good but maybe 8th seed in the East good.

Also mgent, use your backup 3 instead of delfino, then look at jerbko's 09/10 stats compared to martins, and consider Jerebko is in his early 20s and just added 15 lbs of muscle. It's a lot closer than you're portending.
I'm not portending, I like Jerebko I think he's close to Martin.

But if I use my backup 3 doesn't that mean I get David West?

Who got picked first?
Iguodala by about 6 picks I think.  Childress isn't nearly as good of a starter as KMart though.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa

Final Voting Results:

Sixers: 13
Blazers: 10

Ballot results

The Philadelphia 76ers are the New CELTICSBLOG DRAFT CHAMPIONS!

What a tale of redemption! MGENT (I believe) was a first year GM in 2010, and despite picking a good team, didn't even quite make the draft. Turns out, he called KG's resurgence, and told us all how dumb we were for not voting him higher.

Well today is his day to laugh. He's ridden the terrible twosome of Wade/Iggy beyond the entire Eastern Conference and through the Western Conference champion Portland Trailblazers. He deserves your congratulations, your Tommy Points, and your praise.

Congratulations to Mgent!!!

Also, kudos to those who voted. 23 votes is the biggest Finals vote in what, 3 years?

Thank God the Blazers didn't implement a 2-3 zone.

Big congratulations to MGent and the Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers ... you had a tough opponent, but D-Wade was just unstoppable.

Congrats also to IP and a very big thank-you for all your hard work ... amazing just how much goes into a draft like this ... you should be proud, of that and your Finals appearance!

Also thanks to RH and Fafnir for their work as well, and to all the other GMs ... no losers in this one, all the teams were great and filled with talent.

I really had a great time, learned a lot, and enjoyed building my young, athletic, (and highly under-appreciated), team. Live and learn ... but this was a blast!

Thanks to all!

(Even this mysterious "CB Draft Voting" guy ... I'd like his home address ... I have a little package to deliver). ;)

(1) Jonas Jerebko is nowhere near the caliber of defender that Kenyon Martin is.

He is a tweener who doesn't have the physical power to be an above average man-to-man defender at the four or the quickness to be an above average stopper at the three. Without the capability of being a high level defensive player + lacking any resemblance of an offensive game ... Jerebko is ill-suited to a starting position in the league. If used as such, he will always be a weak player.  He is all too often going to be a liability for his team. Jerebko is a 8th or 9th man utility player.

Kenyon Martin is a legitimate starting PF who was the second best defensive player in the league at his position last year. No comparison.

(2) I think J.Harden has already surpassed Kevin Martin.

Kevin Martin doesn't play defense, doesn't rebound and doesn't add anything with his passing. Until that changes, Kevin Martin is a fairly average starting two guard.

James Harden is a very good scorer (16-18ppg threat, very efficient), very good passer, good rebounder and average defender.

^ In terms of rate stats, Kevin Martin averages more assists / has a higher assist percentage than Harden, and has a lower turnover percentage as well.  Rebounding has been about equal, and both have been fairly efficient.  Martin, of course, is a substanially more prolific scorer.

I'd give Harden the edge in defense, health, toughness, and upside. I think he will be better than Martin, but I don't think he's there yet.
