Young players on my team
1. John Wall (20)
2. DeMar DeRozan (21)
3. Jeff Green (24)
4. Josh Smith (25), Tyler Hansbrough (25)
5. Greg Oden (23)

Since we were voted one of the worst teams (which hurt) we would probably will have a very high pick in a stacked draft and add a franchise player. All these players (besides Oden) are young, yet they have already put up solid numbers at the NBA level.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Definitely as some potential although Oden is a HUGE question mark.

Good college player.  A guy people like.

Not an NBA star.  Maybe a decent bench player in the NBA.

Almost sounds Redickulous.

I like Wall as a building block.

But there is no 2nd start.  Just potential good players.

You had this as a slam dunk if you had kept Griffin

Except smaller.

And he will have to work as hard as Redick.  Remember, he looked like a bust early in his career.

DeRozan scored 20 ppg in the second half of the year. I'd say he's more than poised to be the 2nd best player. Josh Smith is the second best player now, maybe not in terms of scoring but in terms of doing everything else the team needs.

I don't see DeRozan as a potential star.  Potential good player.

I see his stats as a product of an unbelievably bad Raptors teams.

Also, I believe that young players grow the fastest when they are surrounded by veterans. My best players are all young with veterans comprising the rest of the team, this will help them develop more quickly.

Almost sounds Redickulous.

He shoots the ball better than JJ, attacks the basket more aggressively, is a heckuvalot smarter with the rock, and has ten times the confidence.

As a college player, JJ shot better from the three point line and ft line.

His career average is higher.  He played with better players and wasn't the only weapon on a team.

And JJ is bigger.

Being like JJ Redick is not a bad thing, and Redick is one of the best college players of my generation.

Actually I wouldn't play Tristan at the five at all ... as I said, he's a bit short at PF, but has an amazing wingspan and is a solid 235, so using his body would help at the four ... he could easily be a swingman at the three as well.

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/tristan-thompson

"At 6-9 he is a bit on the short side as a power forward at the next level … Although he has terrific length, and good athleticism, they do not negate his size issues completely … Also, at this point in his career he plays more as a center as his game is strictly confined to the low block … The major inadequacy that limits his game to the paint is the fact that his jumper needs serious work … He showed very little confidence in it all year and the ones he did take looked hesitant and were off-balance (he shoots with a major fade on almost every shot) … He shoots the ball over his head and extends the release too high, making his stroke very erratic and the results extremely inconsistent."

Unless Thompson makes some MAJOR strides in his jump shot i don't think playing him at the three would fit his skillset at all.  That's like playing Chuck Hayes at the 3 because he's undersized.

Detroit, how are you going to get a 2nd star to go with Wall?

He definitely needs to improve his shooting, especially from mid-range, (and I wouldn't play give a lot of minutes at three), but I think he has the attributes and abilities to succeed at the SF spot, at least as an option in the deep rotation, while his primary role would remain at the four.

Also, from the same page:

A lefty post player with a tremendous wingspan … He has made improvements to his body, shedding the baby fat he carried throughout high-school, he has also added some mass and definition (his frame shows the potential to support even more weight without taking away from his explosiveness) … A good athlete, he is able to make plays on both ends of the floor thanks to his length, energy and blue collar approach… He establishes good early position and gets a high number of easy looks in transition thanks to his ability to run the floor … Battles for position and is able to get touches very close to the basket because he seals and counterseals extremely well … Has very good hands and makes difficult catches in traffic and on the move … Shows the ability to turn to both shoulders effectively and can finish with mini jump hooks with both hands … He is becoming more comfortable using his body and quick feet to beat defenders to the spot … He flashes the ability to faceup and attack off the bounce, but he will need to continue to polish his handles before he can fully utilize his quick and long first step … Finds the seams in the defence and gets to the openings for quick and easy finishes without having plays run for him … When his energy level is high he can be a very good rebounder, especially on the offensive end … He has an extremely quick second jump, and he is able to time his attack and get his hands on a high percentage of missed shots … His length also posses problems on the defensive end, as he is able to recover quickly or slide over from the weakside to block and contest shots around the basket.
