And to all you jerks who are lamenting my press release, screw you guys. I worked for like 2 hours on that crap, and tried to give a good narrative of how I got to my team, what my expectations are, and how I see each individual player. Jeez! And people wonder what's wrong with Amurrica today! People don't appreciate good work!!!

Word (no pun intended).  I spent a good chunk of time getting the table codes to work properly so I can look as neat and professional as Bahku does when he posts tables of stuff.  ;D

IP,

What if Amare, Bogut, Williams, and Lowry are all injured for extended time?

I imagine we'll be runaway favorites for 'most likeable plucky team to over-come adversity and still win a championship in the history of the world', and it'll be little Anthony Tolliver, the 6'9 underdog who dunks the winning bucket in game 7 against a hated rival, probably coached by a cheap Michael Douglas look-a-like.

You watched Terminator 3, then as you left your popcorn bucket on the floor next to your empty drink cup for the ushers to pickup instead of just taking it to a garbagecan like a normal person, you muttered to your imaginary friend, "Needed more fighting robots."

Ironically, I was THIS close to seeing Transformers 3 by myself - where I did leave my popcorn and soda on the ground CUZ IT'S THEIR JOB - until I remembered my roommate had the day off.

Question for the Jazz:

Quote
Considering that was June 14th, it is safe to assume Butler will be back 100% this upcoming season

Why? Caron Butler is a 31 year old SG/SF who just went through a season ending knee surgery. Why am I to assume he's going to be a 100%?

There was talk about Butler coming back for the Finals. His status was constantly borderline being able to play. If you read the quote above my statement you will see that he is practically ready for full contact work. That was on June 14th. The season isn't until November - hypothetically.

The fact that he can be involved in full contact work before training camp is very promising. After training camp and when the season starts Butler will be 10 months removed from the surgery. The fact his rehab was so ferocious - it's documented how hard he worked, see link below - is why he almost was able to play in the finals. From the end of the finals to the beginning of the season is another 18 weeks for him to get back to full speed.

Seeing as he was so close to playing then in the championship round, I believe that an extra 18 weeks is enough time for Butler to produce the way he was pre-injury.

Him being ready to compete is different from him being 100%. KG played the entire 09/10 season, but clearly he wasn't 100%.

Especially with his age, I am not expecting 'the old Caron Butler' this season.

Portland wins both of those match-ups.

Utah obviously wins the Pierce match-up though.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

SF) Starters - Pierce Vs Delfino - Pierce it's not even close
Reserves - Thabo/Butler Vs Williams - Depends on how Williams comes along

PF) Starters - KG Vs Amare - Edge Amare but after this years playoffs it's close
Reserves - Maxiell/Jefferson Vs Williams - Again how good will Williams be as a rookie

C) Starters - Jefferson Vs Bogut - I see this as more of a tie. They will both score on each other
Reserves - Haywood Vs Lopez/Tolliver - I give Haywood the edge because he will play
consistently with a better PF option unless it's Maxiell (5 mpg)

This is a fun one to debate. I like the experience my team has. I am going to go into the playoffs here. I think the playoffs will be too big for Williams at times. Neither Bogut or Big Al has ever played in a playoff game. Amare is overall the best front line player but he is going up against the one guy who will neutralize him the most in KG (best defensive PF). Big Al has the best offensive post game of any of these guys. Offensively he complements KG more than Bogut does Amare.

I think the PF and C positions are close, but the SF position is no contest. Delfino is a SG. Period. Putting him on Pierce is a joke. Pierce will be at the line all day. Same with Williams putting a slow footed rookie on the truth in the playoffs is again a joke. Pump fakes all day. If Portland and Utah meet up expect Pierce to shoot a lot of FTs and impact the series more then any other player.

You have to take into account the depth and look at the minutes also. Williams will be guarding Big Al, KG, and Pierce at almost all times. KG's defense on Amare was great last year. Don't want to hear about his back bc the guy was healthy enough to play.

Im talking about Caron Butler for the Mavs who played only 29 mpg and gave 15 ppg and 4 rpg.

Question for OKC,

Kobe is at his best and most successful when he has a great post player to operate off of - Shaq/Gasol. Other then Kobe, your best post player is Artest of Jamison.

How does Kobe adapt to that? What is his style of play at this stage in his career because he can't go off and average 35 ppg like he did post Shaq and pre-Gasol. Not if you want your team to be successful.

Thoughts?
