Should my team be starting Courtney Lee or Ariza?

I like that Courtney Lee stretches the defense with his shooting, but I also like the idea of having the length at the wing Ariza and Gay could give my team.

Lee.

No doubt about it, Roy? Two 6'8 athletic wing defenders doesn't offset Ariza's "offensive skillset"?
You can stil use that line up for long minutes anyways. Ariza should be your SF/SG defender off the bench, backing up both Lee and Gay respectively as you rotate in the playoffs.

I agree (although I think eventually George will steal some regular minutes, as well).

I think the starting lineup needs Lee's spacing, and he's a very good role player who plays good defense.  Tony Parker is a 31% 3PT shooter for his career; I don't think he could survive with Ariza (30.3% last year) beside him, especially if Gay reverts to 2010 form (32.7% from downtown).

Oh yeah that team has Paul George.

Given the constraints of the game Ariza is the safe bet to get most of the minutes, but in a real fake NBA season George would have a good chance of stealing his minutes away if he keeps developing.

Ya, Paul George is little bit of a battle of the politics of the CB Draft and what I think of George.

If George simply matched what he showed in the playoffs against the Bulls he's a heavy rotational player. And with  even a little improvement out of him I can't see the need to have a 4th wing in Ariza. Personally, I have some pretty big expectations for him this season. Though, that hasn't always worked out (See: Williams, Terrence)

But I have some concerns on how many people are familiar with George, whereas I think a lot of people still think of Ariza as the offensive player that torched us in the NBA Finals.

I'm of the mind that Trevor Ariza is barely scraping the bottom of the barrel as a starting NBA forward, and should only be used in isolated situations. I've gotten there by watching him die in Houston, then barely live in New Orleans. If you like Paul George better, play him more or start him.

I do want to dismiss Ariza, particularly without improving alongside CP3, but I keep thinking of the impact TA had on Memphis this season.

I don't know what the role is, but I feel like there's a place where Trevor Ariza could excel again.

I think Ariza is a perfectly good starter in the mold of a Posey/Tony Allen/Lee/Marion sort of guy. He's a role player who brings a specific skill set and needs playmaking and offense around him. He's a known quantity, Paul George isn't (potential can or cannot materialize)

Any place that doesn't place much offense burden on him, similar to Tony Allen.

New Orleans lack of play making other than CP3 force Ariza into too big of a role offensively. Ever since he's stint in Houston its clear that he's not capable of that sort of role on a team.

I would like to see New Orleans get some wing fire power alongside Paul. Maybe a sign and trade with David West.

Courtney Lee didn't fare all that well in New Jersey, and James Posey didn't fare all that well when a lot was required of him.

Trevor Ariza needs to take fewer shots, and make more of those shots he takes, particularly 3pt shots.

One of those things is easy to do; you just don't pass to him as often. The other two things are a lot harder and until they happen, Ariza will often be as much of an albatross as he is a boon.

I've added Carmelo Anthony, Evan Turner, and JJ Hickson to an already very talented young team, and I go from 4th to 3rd in just the Division?!? I think my team is being highly under-rated, simply because their "young".

Atlantic

(1) Phily - dependent on how Hedo Turkoglu is utilized
(2) New Jersey
(3) Boston
(4) New York

Central

(1) Indiana
(2) Chicago
(3) Detroit
(4) Milwaukee

Southeast

(2) Orlando
(3) Atlanta
(4) Miami

I see six clear cut playoff teams. Final two spots yet to be won.

You might be right. I think its time you started advocating, and going on the offensive. People have alternated on who is better, you or Atlanta, but maybe its time you took aim at the rest of your conference and your division and showed clearly why you're the better team.
