Thoughts before the press conference? Yes feel free to rip me for the trade.

2011 CNBA Draft Celtics.
C: Greg Monroe  Aaron Gray  Donatus Montejunas
PF:Al Horford Darrel Arthur
SF: Hedo Turkoglu James Jones Jan Vesely
SG:Eric Gordon Rodney Stuckey
PG: Jrue Holliday  Jameer Nelson CJ Watson

Lotta talent...lotta young guys. And not a single person on your team has ever been the best player on a decent squad.

I dunno, its a lot of talent.

I actually thinK Al Horford has been the best player on the Hawks the Past two years and he's been playing out of position.

With the NFL on lockout, hating on Joe Johnson has been a favorite past time of everyone, but he's been the best player in Atlanta since he arrived. Horford is a talent, but Joe Johnson is better.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one especially when you factor in that Atlanta's jump to a second round playoff team happened when Horford made the jump to All Star/ All NBA big.

Yeah but that's like arguing that Pau Gasol was more important to the Lakers than Kobe, or that Bynum's emergence is the most important thing to LA. Gasol was very important, but not more important, and Bynum's emergence was what they needed to get over, but not more than they needed Kobe.

Quote
Which is more important for a team to have than an All NBA 2 guard.

Well fine, but Joe Johnson is still the better player. Horford can be really talented, really important, and even a powerful personality and still not be better than Joe Johnson, because Joe Johnson is a pretty good (abet flawed) player.

The talent and actualized ability difference between JJ and Horford is miniscule compared to Gasol and Kobe's. In fact, not only is the talent difference smaller, but you'd also have to switch competitive drives. Horford has a lot mor Kobe in him and JJ has a lot more Gasol.

Actually you know what? That's a great point. Joe Johnson is whiney loser frenchman that can't ever be the best talent on a contending team. And I do respect Horford a lot as a leader, based on what Noah has said about him at Florida. Noah was the actual leader on that team, but Horford was the more NBA-ready and Noah never had or has anything to say aobut the guy that isn't glowing.

I get the vibe from that team Florida team that Noah was the swagger and Horford the rock. Both valid leadership styles that are amazing together. Like Paul/ Ray and KG/ Rondo. But aside from the fact Gasol is from Spain, I think you got everything right.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
OKC Thunder final roster(most likely)

PG. Rajon Rondo/Mo Williams
SG. Kobe Bryant/Shannon Brown
SF. Ron Artest/DeShawn Stevenson/Quentin Richarson
PF. Tyrus Thomas/Antawn JamisonJosh Mcroberts
C.  Samuel Dalembert/Darko Milicic/Ian Mahinmi
Coach: Byron Scott

Before the Love trade I think you were in a position to make a pretty compelling case for the divisional crown. I don't think so anymore. Rondo+Kobe+Declinging Artest+Ty Thomas and Sam Dalembert doesn't seem to 'fit' to me.

kobe rondo best backcourt and best defensive backcourt..artest still a good defender and 3 point threat..thomas very athletic and dalembert always healthy reliable solid center that can shoot a little bit...my bench also has a lot of firepower between mo will and jamison...and deShawn can be good like the finals
How much does Mo Williams play stuck behind Rondo and Kobe?

he can play the 1 and 2 off the bench so a decent amount of minutes

I guess the point that I'm making here is that yes, Kobe+Rondo are the best defensive back-court in this game in all liklihood. But, offensively they're a square peg in a round hole. Rondo's at his best when he has complete discretion over the offense. Kobe's at his best when he has a uber-talented big man to feed (sporadically) in the post, and can play a 2 man game in a fluid offensive system where he overwhelmingly dominates the ball.

Mo Williams (praise his name) actually made a ton of sense there. Kevin Love did too, because he can pass and score.

Rondo really doesn't. Ty Thomas and Ron Artest stand to benefit the mose from Rondo's passing, but if Rondo doesn't ever have the ball, he won't be passing to anyone.

Kobe has never shown that on a team that was clearly 'his' that he'd share. In fact, he likely gave up multiple championships just so he could win on his own terms, because he was jealous of Shaq. Why is he going to defer to stubborn, doesn't play politics Rajon Rondo?

Rondo's gonna tell him to shove that triangle right up his...well in an uncomfortable place, and Kobe's gonna give Rondo the KoBe Face and nobody is going to win anything.

Well, I've seen Pau Gasol in person and on TV. I've seen his big froggy eyes, and I know for certain, he's from France and his name is techinically pronounced 'Pierre'.

(disclaimer: I know Gasol is not from France and I also understand that the French are a people with an incredibly rich culture and a long-standing tradition of courage and valor. I'm just kidding because sometimes stereotypes are funny if the timing is correct and its known that the intentions were not malicious.)

as kobe gets older he has developed more into a jump shooter. my big man are perfect for kobe coming off picks because there not post players, there in the starting lineup for defense/  rondo will be getting kobe the ball a lot and if kobes doubled then rondo will drive and score.

sometimes during celtics games, pierce brings the ball up the court.. and i envision sometimes kobe can do what pierce does as well.(though this usuallu happens in the 4th quarter when pierce wants to be the closer, we know kobe can be the closer.
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries

Utah Jazz  GM: Kane3387  Coach: Larry Brown
PG Baron Davis/ Jamal Crawford/ Chris Duhon
SG Caron Butler/ Thabo Sefolosha/Jason Kapono
SF Paul Pierce/ Thabo Sefolosha/ Jason Kapono
PF Kevin Garnett/ Jason Maxiell
C Al Jefferson/ Brendan Haywood/ Ryan Hollins

Minutes breakdown still being worked out.

There are parts I love and parts I hate. I love the reuniting of KG and Paul. I love putting BDiddy on a talented team. I worry that Butler post injury won't be athletic enough to handle two guards. I think KG might yell so loudly at Al Jeff for missing rotations Al might go deaf in an ear. And BDiddy is usually good to miss 15 games a year, so Jamal Crawford as a back up point and really your only option there worries me.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Good 3 point shooters (RJ, 'Shard, D-Fish, Kelenna, Troy and Chalmers) who can stretch the floor gives Monta and DeMarcus to do what they do best.

Rebounding with DMC, Beans and Dray.

Great frontcourt potential in Dray and DMC (barring maturity issues)

Pretty solid (not good but solid) defense.

Underrated playmaker in T-Will who can also slash and dunk on ANYBODY.

This might not win a championship, but it aint going down quiet.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Duhon is a solid player. Nothing flashy but he plays defense and is a good glue guy. It was to Orlando's detriment that Arenas took his minutes. That's politics though. Butler will play a lot of backup 3 and Thabo will play a lot of 2 guard as well. Big Al has never played with anyone like KG on defense. His defense will improve and on offense they will be very good together. KG in the high post and Big Al on the block?! Nice combo!

I mean a lot of people were worried about a 38 year old Shaq and that worked out fine... Also Haywood will be getting his fair share of run also.

KG: "Dude.... What is up with yo shorts?!"

New tentative rotation:

PG: Lowry/Sessions/Mills
SG: Harden/Morrow/Hendersen
SF: Defino/Derrick Williams/Jerebko
PF: A Stoudemire/Derrick Williams/Jerebko/Tolliver
C: Bogut/Stoudemire/R Lopez/Tolliver

Remember that big long point you were gonna make about how I didn't have a legitimate proven backup center in case Bogut went down at all?

Well now I have Robin Lopez, a 7ft defensive energy monster with starting expereince. He's not Andrew Bogut, but as far as guys who you'd like to pair next to Amar'e he's about as good a choice as you're going to find in a reserve role. Next to Amar'e, he posted the 8th best trueshooting percentage among centers.

How ya livin?
