Thoughts before the press conference? Yes feel free to rip me for the trade.

2011 CNBA Draft Celtics.
C: Greg Monroe  Aaron Gray  Donatus Montejunas
PF:Al Horford Darrel Arthur
SF: Hedo Turkoglu James Jones Jan Vesely
SG:Eric Gordon Rodney Stuckey
PG: Jrue Holliday  Jameer Nelson CJ Watson

Lotta talent...lotta young guys. And not a single person on your team has ever been the best player on a decent squad.

I dunno, its a lot of talent.

And going a step further than odd vagueries, I can totally see the arguement here. Al Horford is all the leader we need, Greg Monroe was the most underrated rookie by a wide margin last year, Eric Gordon is on his way to becoming one of the top 5 2 guards in the NBA, and Jrue Holiday is poised to join Rondo and Kyle Lowry as the best defensive PG's in basketball (i'm assuming there is nothing but shame surrounding Hedo).

I get it. Lotta talent. Hows the offense work with the big men?

I actually thinK Al Horford has been the best player on the Hawks the Past two years and he's been playing out of position.

With the NFL on lockout, hating on Joe Johnson has been a favorite past time of everyone, but he's been the best player in Atlanta since he arrived. Horford is a talent, but Joe Johnson is better.

Horford's jump shooting ability and passing ability will allow Monroe to continue doing what he does best, being a garbage man.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one especially when you factor in that Atlanta's jump to a second round playoff team happened when Horford made the jump to All Star/ All NBA big. Which is more important for a team to have than an All NBA 2 guard.

Before the Love trade I think you were in a position to make a pretty compelling case for the divisional crown. I don't think so anymore. Rondo+Kobe+Declinging Artest+Ty Thomas and Sam Dalembert doesn't seem to 'fit' to me.

Yeah but that's like arguing that Pau Gasol was more important to the Lakers than Kobe, or that Bynum's emergence is the most important thing to LA. Gasol was very important, but not more important, and Bynum's emergence was what they needed to get over, but not more than they needed Kobe.

Well fine, but Joe Johnson is still the better player. Horford can be really talented, really important, and even a powerful personality and still not be better than Joe Johnson, because Joe Johnson is a pretty good (abet flawed) player.

The talent and actualized ability difference between JJ and Horford is miniscule compared to Gasol and Kobe's. In fact, not only is the talent difference smaller, but you'd also have to switch competitive drives. Horford has a lot mor Kobe in him and JJ has a lot more Gasol.

How much does Mo Williams play stuck behind Rondo and Kobe?

Actually you know what? That's a great point. Joe Johnson is whiney loser frenchman that can't ever be the best talent on a contending team. And I do respect Horford a lot as a leader, based on what Noah has said about him at Florida. Noah was the actual leader on that team, but Horford was the more NBA-ready and Noah never had or has anything to say aobut the guy that isn't glowing.

Also, Hedo as the 5th best starter is nothing to be ashamed of.
