I'm serious when GMs hype up something that's just not in the cards for a player(Daniel Gibson's defense as a SG, shudder) its a turn off for me for the rest of their vision. It was a tiny part in your press conference but it really stuck out in my mind for some reason.

Yeah, because you disagree with it ... I feel differently about Gibson, I wasn't just blowing sunshine. Doesn't mean ANYone has to agree with me, and I'm fine if no one does. I know enough about basketball to be confident about my assessments, but everyone sees players in a different light, and none of us agree on everything. I respect your opinion, though I don't agree with it ... maybe that's the difference. When someone has an opinion about a player that you disagree with, you just assume they must know nothing about the subject altogether, and dismiss everything else. Just because others see things differently, doesn't mean they're any more wrong, (or right), than you are.
Stating my opinion confidently isn't disrespect, disagreement isn't disrespect, and criticism isn't disrespect.

Boozer has usually made the play-offs while Randolph has not. Also to rank my team last in the conference based on you not liking two players is bunk.

Oh for the love of pete. For the thousand and second time:

When I'm using the term 'hate,' when assessing a player it means that I don't personally like his game and probably evaluate him differently than other people. It's not a personality thing. It's how I see this very subjective game.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
One last shot to strike up an argument in favor of the Warriors:

PG - Stephen Curry (starter), Andre Miller (starter for a playoff team)
SG - Sam Young (starter for a playoff team), Rodrigue Beaubois (starter for a playoff team*)
SF - Nic Batum (starter for a playoff team), Thad Young (6th man for a playoff team)
PF - Dirk Nowitzki (starter for a playoff team), Derrick Favors (uhhh...young guy.)
C - Marcus Camby (starter for a playoff team), David Lee (starter)

Plus, towel wavers, defenders, fouling machines, and all-around handsome gentlemen like Steve Blake, Corey Brewer, and Nikola Pekovic! A superstar, quality depth, and playoff experience.

*Ok, so Beaubois didn't start a game in the playoffs thanks to his injuries and inconsistent season, but he's still highly regarded amongst the Mavericks...
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Champ how often would you have Steph Curry play 2 guard w/ all the other starters?

About 10-12 minutes per game, maybe more depending on the matchup, with Miller at the point. I like Curry better as a natural 2 but I worry about his defense there (like everyone else). Still, if he struggles to distribute it's nice to have a steady hand like Miller there without taking Curry's offense out of the game. It's something we didn't get to see much of in the real Golden State thanks to Monta's presence and the team's lack of a true PG, but I think Curry's college experience shows he can transition between both guard spots without giving up efficiency.

I'm submitting my rankings at 2. Feel free to ask me why I ranked your team where I did.

Regarding the reading of presserrs, I have to admit that I only skim read them, never look at the videos or pictures and use what is in them mostly as ammunittion against that team if I meet them in the playoffs.

I just feel that after producing several very in depth draft boards and discussing these players as much as we have over the years that I have a dang good idea of which players I like, what they can do, how they would imteract with others and dont need to listen to the in depth stuff some GMs write up.

I select, target, avoid and don't select players based on this knowlwdge and no in depth opinionated presser is going to change my view of those players.

I think many of the vet GMs probably feel the same way. But I will say this, doing an in depth presser will get you to learn more about the players on your team, get you to like your players and team more and ultimately make you a more informed and better GM for the next time you play.

So in that way thy serve as a great tool and should not be shunned.

I'm confused how my team that has a 3rd team ALL NBA Center -- now playing his natural position-- and a top 5 2 guard and yet the primary knock on my team is that I lack a go to guy.

A reminder to teams with Co-GMs:

Quote
In the case of teams having Co-GMs each team will only receive one vote and each team will designate one person to cast their votes well ahead of time. If you both send in ballots they will be disregarded.

That includes the initial ranking of teams, so if you and your Co-GM aren't on the same page, make sure you are before you submit a ballot.

Hey KC, you posted this question in the SE division yesterday and here was my response:

Not entirely sure how having an all nba center-- who is now moved to his more natural position-- and a top 5 2 guard means I have no go to guy.

Horford is an all nba center and a more natural PF, but he's not an all nba PF.  He's probably the 8th best PF.

I have Gordon ranked 7th or 8th among SGs behind Wade, Kobe, Iggy, Johnson, Ray, Manu and roughly equal to Ellis.

So your best 2 players are roughly the 8th best at their respective positions in a 24 team league.

I don't think people are sold on Eric Gordon as a top player in the league yet, not as an offensively playmaker certainly.
