I would've picked him for his defense, scoring and outside shooting, and I doubt many others would've passed on him this round if he fit a need.

I agree, which is why I thought the Boston series was so bizarre. He's not a bad defensive player, but he was pathetic.

I'd have to search for it, but there a thread I started that had a video displaying Douglas' defense on Rondo and it was consistently mind blowingly incompetent.

I dare you to name a player that Rondo can't blow by on a consistent basis.

I think its a combination of bad defense, Rondo being exceptional, and MISERABLE coaching.

Good pick for the role he'll play. Nicely done. People kind of forgot that he was ranked by quite a few NBA nerds as the toughest perimeter defender outside of Shane Battier just 2 seasons ago.

Probably a combo of it being his first playoffs, Chauncey getting hurt so he was forced into a larger role, and the Celtics beating the living crap out of them with a broom.

That plus I bet D'Antoni told him to play 10 feet off of Rondo and then when Rondo went off for like 30 D'Antoni had 0 clue what to do.
