I assumed as much. He's one of the most prominent and respected coach in the Philippines. Won a lot of championship priding on defense and his triangle offense.

Works for me. Might have as much a chance coaching in the NBA next season as PhilJax or JVG.

Watched a lot of Philippines hoops when I was there a couple of years ago ... he is a genius with defense and an excellent coach period. I think he'd be great in the NBA. (Alaska Aces - 13 titles).

Sometimes in these games, players come up who I've never heard of.  Then I google them and sometimes i'm like oh yeah i've seen him or i look up youtube highlights.

This guy though... Even after reading his entire wiki I still have no idea who the hell he is or why he was drafted!  Then Bahku starts pulling out that he's heard of the guy and actually is a genius!  Sometimes I am truly humbled when discussing hoops with you fellow fans...

I fell in love with the philippines ... and in the Philippines, (got engaged to a Filipina). I lived in the Santa Cruz area of Manila, and travelled to and spent time in Quezon City, Cebu, Paniqui, (Rose's hometown), Palawan, Luzon, Angeles City, and my favorite place, Boracay (wow). I love the food, the country, the people most of all ... and Filipina women are the most beautiful women in the world, (my opinion). I am longing to return sometime soon.

NO BS. Santa Cruz Manila is WHERE I GREW UP. Can't believe you loved that place. That place is crowded crazy with the only good thing being the Karaoke bars, cheap imitation basketball shoes (yeah Nike's and Jordan's that looks and feels like real for about 12 dollars). Cebu, Palawan and Boracay on the other hand, yeah those places are awesome!!!

Thoughts:

I like it a lot for San Antonio.  I think this team is heading towards a very balanced offensive attack and I think Kaman is the right type of player for that kind of strategy.  I think Westbrook is one of the best types of players for Kaman to play with too because Westbrook attracts so much attention from the defense and Kaman is great at finding those open spots on the floor and finishing or hitting the jumper.  Downgrade in talent, but upgrade in fit and draft pick.

I'm very undecided for OKC.  I mean, Cousins IS a headcase.  But I think he could be really humbled playing next to two greats in Kobe and Melo.  I genuinely think he could be.  I think Bynum has some headcase in him but was humbled the same way b/c he knew he had potential for greatness inside of him and needed Kobe to push him to reach it.  I bet Cousins knows the same.  But I still can't deny that the guy is a headcase.  So I'm undecided, I could love it or dislike it.

Kind of a lateral move.  I mean defense for shooting exchange, yeah, but pretty lateral in terms of talent.  I don't feel like either team was particularly desperate for that perimeter defense or shooting either, so a bit of a surprise move to me.
