Yeah, whenever you guys are ready to do the adoration of my team, i'm ready.
Lowry/?/Derek Williams/Amar'e Stoudemire/Andrew Bogut
I'm pretty surprised no ones mentioned this team as one of the better teams out there, maybe if you had a Wilson Chandler type on your team people would be talking about it more.
haha.
Honestly though - and I'm sure this'll be met with a lot of 'my team says hello' messages - I don't see why people aren't rating this team higher. That's a dominant front court that's going to create a lot of trouble.
Against most teams these 2 are going to create a significant point advantage that's going to be hard to make up in the other three positions.
BC look at the guys.. Amare is a stud and arguably a guy good enough to be the best player on a championship team but he needs a guy close to his level. Like Nash. In the east without Melo that NY team was flirting with the 8th seed. He's a stud but he needs a BAD #2.
Is Bogut that guy? Dont think so. Always hurt. Will he ever play 75-82 games? And when he s healthy he's never been an All Star. The coaches continue to put in PF like Horford. On a championship team he is the # 3 guy tops. He's solid but because he plays a shallow position he looks better. Also when he was out last year Milwaukee did well. Bogut while not 100% still played but the Jennings and more importantly the Salmons injuries killed them. Basically he's not even the most important player on his team.
Williams? A rookie. In the Michael Beasley mode. Never know what you're gonna get from a rookie let alone a tweener. He can't guard a lot of the quality threes. Durant, Gay, Iggy, Granger, James. He might be able to guard Melo and Pierce and some of those other guys in time but not right away. There will be a lot of growing pains and he doesn't compliment Amare.
Lowry? Feisty yes. But he's been a backup his whole career. On a contender he needs to be your 4th or 5th best guy. He balls but he has never even started a full season, let alone for a playoff team, and let alone for a contender.
I think people here recognize some of these things and are hesitant to give the team the love you might believe it deserves.
