Dang it ... that is exactly who I was trying to move up to select.

You just moved into my standout teams group. Blazers, Pacers, Kings, Thunder and Nuggets I think it was.

A Derrick Williams, Amare and Bogut frontcourt is monstrous.
Yup, and the ability to go quick with Williams/Amar'e at the 4/5 will be a devastating option.

I absolutely love this pick with every part of my being

haha, you mean because you think it ends me as a threat or because its a good pick?

Partly because its a good pick i think, also partly because I didnt have him on my board so everybody i have moves down a slot.

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

sigh. Fafnir, I'm gonna take the plunge.
Best talent left, but rookies are hard to count on during the debate.

I hadn't even thought of that yet. Wow. That will be very tough to matchup against.

Whoever I drafted here, I wanted them to be able to play the 4 as well as the 3, just for that reason.

And Williams is the closest thing left to star talent at the forward spot.

There's a lot of rookies this year that I could see playing roles on contenders.

Agreed, lot of role playing talent in this draft.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Might be looking to move back from 4-5, but I'd like to stay in the round. Let me know if you're interested.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

And here is what went into it for me: People drafted John Wall in the 1st last year, and I get it that 'you can't win when your best player out there is a rookie'.

But I didn't draft Williams in the first or second, I drafted him in the 4th. There are 3 other more critical players out there on the floor with him, and all I'm expecting Williams to do in his rookie season is spark the second unit at the 4, let the offense come to him with the starters, and rebound/defend. He'll take his lumps, but he'll be a net positive for me, big time.

More than I can recall, you've got a few guys with very specific skill sets. I think when you're dealing with players like that, they can be plugged in immediately.

To play devil's advocate, though I agree with your logic; John Wall was heavily publicized PG who was expected to do a lot of great things. I don't watch much basketball, but I made sure to catch Kentucky play at any chance I could.

Williams hasn't got the pub, so it leads a lot of voters (par say, me) whose knowledge of his game are limited to a few articles before the draft and some youtube mixes.

Still, I think it's a good pick, not the best pick  ;), but a good one.

Not to mention it was 30 team draft.

As the person who drafted Wall, I took him knowing I was not in position to really make a run at the "best team" so I started early on "team of the  future"

So, how good are you at selling a player?
