The Pacers got Rudy for a 4 and a 5? I'd have done that.

Lol that's the point everyone would have except for the guy obviously who traded Rudy Gay. I think it came down to him wanting more depth though. Still let's put this in perspective.

Hawks sends: 3(12), 3(23), 6(13)
Warriors sends: 2(20) = *Rudy Gay*, 6(5), 8(5)

Hawks send Rudy Gay and 6.5
Pacers send 4.23 and 5.14.

So the trade ends up being 3.12, 3.23, 6.13 for 4.23, 5.14, 8.5  :-X :'( >:(

That's the kind of move that gets real GMs fired.

Yeah, i hate to do this as well but that's the best offer i had for Rudy. So fire me.

I made a bad decision on drafting Gerald Wallace who was I believe the BPA at 2.23, and got stuck with two SF's.

I was shopping Crash but realized he's a better player than Gay. Although Rudy is a prolific scorer, Wallace is better all around.

Having both of them is good, but knowing i won't pick till the 5th round i won't have any depth in my team. And looking at the draft board of who's left, it's a risk I'm willing to take.

The 4th and 5th round is make or break for my team. I still have Rondo and Crash, that's a solid duo who can do it all already.

I mean no disrespect to you. I got good advice and I will pass it on. Be more patient with your players. This draft continues on through next week. Thus as more teams draft actual players and see a visual of how their teams are taking form they will identify holes in their roster. You could have possibly gotten much better offers tomorrow or in a few days.

Best of luck. TP for playing.

I'm just curious Yoki, what soured you on the idea of starting Wallace as your power forward? It's a position he played a lot of early in his career and he's back at the 4 now in Portland.

I liked the idea of Gay and Wallace together in the frontcourt, with Crash taking the tougher defensive assignment, but with frequent switching.

i know you don't mean any harm. that's just me being p---ed off at myself for a.) i made a bad decision on picking the BPA and not picking on what I need and b.) if i could have woken up early i could've gotten a better swap.

I liked the Gay pick, i just felt that i won't get good enough depth for not picking in rounds 4 and 5. And also giving away Wallace will help someone's team greatly. I had to risk giving up Rudy instead and hope that the names in draftboard will somehow cover up for the mishap i had for picking Wallace at 2.23.

I just can't see him at the PF spot without a lengthy, somehow solid center along with him. He's 6'7'' and against Amare and LaMarcus and Blake, those with great post up games, as good as he is defensively he's just not gonna cut it. He's to undersized and without a Center helping him my team is just gonna get beat inside.

He did okay at 4 against Dallas mainly since Chandler is not a low post threat so Gerald can easily sag off off Dirk if LaMarcus needed help against him. But against low post threats, taller PF's, without a center who can somehow defend, I'm doomed in the interior.

your offer was for Wallace I think. If there is an offer from you for Rudy then lets add c.) I did not see your offer or probably sorry but was too sleepy to think; to what contributes to this mashup of mine. And yeah, Wallace is not a bad thing. But I won't have any good players after them. I looked at the draft board and there are a few I can live on so I risked it. Make or break for me.

I'm just saying the Grizzlies are a dope team.

You're saying they're a bunch of dopes?

Once Rudy's back, they're going to win a championship. That's for sure.

Seriously with the team they have now, it's possible. They are not the 06-07 warriors. Upsetting the spurs was HUGE imho. Say what you want, but the Grizz will be around for the playoffs (probably 2nd round) for years to come.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Any suitors willing to part with a late 4th or an early 5th let me know. Everything is available except CP3.

P.S. Any other trade options, make me an offer for anything except CP3

Almost every bad trade I've seen over the years comes down to one of three things:

1) Impatience;

2) A compulsive need to tinker; or

3) Over-reaction to criticism.

Here's my advice: don't make bad trades. Ever. If you don't like the value you're getting, don't trade.  It's seemingly common sense, but lots of great GMs make silly decisions.  Shop around. Don't make a trade until you've talked to at least 20 other GMs. Make counter-offers.  Be patient. Lastly, don't overthink things, especially if the seeds of doubt were planted by a competitor.
