With the 1st Overall pick for this years Celticsblog Draft, The New Jersey Nets are proud to select:

Kevin Durant

Yikes. Well, better the team you love, right?
Better be ready to argue he'll be the MVP next year, because you need to get MVP talent to compete with the poor 2nd/3rd picks.

Can you assemble a core better than the Thunder's in real life?

But can Rondo and Nick assemble a core better than Miami's either? I saw it coming, Riah hinted as much last week, and personally I'm on board with Durant #1.

We plan on taking a beating but we didn't take LeBron with the first pick. He fell to us.

Nothing you can do. Every single one of you know you would have made the same choice at #2 if he was available.

Yes, my soul will be black and self loathing will be occurring as I argue LeBron's greatness but we had to do it.

:Raises his hand as someone who would have traded down to grab one of two other players:
Trading takes two, were there offers that gave proper value?
Nope

:Raises hand as someone who thinks two other players are better and would be easier to build a team around:

haha KC I know who you are refering to I just disagree

I don't think they can put together a better core but they can field a much deeper and more balanced team.

They'll lose some talent in their second and third stars but they can gain a great deal 4th through 10th best players. If those complement each other well, they can build a better team than the current incarnation of the Miami Heat.

Its the right call. Christmas came early for you with a 2 karat blood diamond. You know you don't really 'want' it, but its not like you give it back.

Howard would've been my 1st or 2nd pick, have to love him 3rd.

I've said it before, but I'll co-sign again.

I would've taken him at #1 and I wouldn't have even considered anyone else.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
20 minutes until my pick, and I'm not sure what's gonna happen before then, but I'm tentatively putting 1(5) on the block if you want to PM me with trade ideas. Time is of the essence though, so we won't be able to go through too many counter offers.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I'd agree they'll field much deeper and more balanced team, but you're understating the gap in talent between Miami's other two star and whoever will be available tomorrow and Wednesday.
