Great pick. He's become underrated. This was the player I was discussing vs. Chandler. He also out plays Gasol hands down.

Emaka Okafor averaged 7.3 points, and 5.5 rebounds in 31 minutes in the playoffs this season.

I like him as a player, terrific defender, but I don't think you can say he out plays Gasol 'hands down'

Give me Kaman over both of them.

56, 31, 76, 32.  Im a huge Kaman fan, but the dude seems to never be on the floor
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Sorry, I meant the younger Gasol who back slid this season. 10.3 points on 57% shooting and 9.5 rebounds while playing much better defense vs. Marc's 11.7 points on 53% shooting and 7.0 rpg.

Obviously Pau remains in a class above.

Because if Kaman could stay healthy for the year, he has more talent and size.

But, it is a big if.

Deng, Chauncey, and 10 bigs.

You guys suck.

I laughed out loud. Tommy point for some unexpected trash talk.

Marc averaged 15 and 11 on .511 shooting in the playoffs.

Again, I like Okafor, but I* think there's a substantial difference.

*Obviously, I picked him at 2.8

Thanks for making my pick.

The Bullets wanted to beef up their weakness down low which was an average rebounder in Aldridge.  Gortat rebounds at a high rate (top 10 in the NBA last year)

Post all-star last year, 15.3, 10.6 and 1.5 blocks in 33 minutes a game.

His scoring likely was a little inflated due to Nash, but I would still expect him in the 10-13 point range.

I thought about Millsap, but I wanted to be bigger and have one of those bigs be a better rebounder.  Millsap rebounds at a similar pace as Aldridge.  I needed less offense, more defense and rebounding.

Millsap/Aldridge would have been a bit redundant. You got tougher and better around the glass with Gortat. Nice decision.
I would have preferred Millsap. Use him as a sixth man.

Then use Aldridge as a starting PF (40-45% of mins) and backup C (55-65% mins).

Draft a defender / rebounder starting C to be a part time starter in a 20 minute a night role.

He was strong in 2010. Guys normally bring their best in contract years too. Look at Chandler. Kaman isn't any more injury prone then some of the bigs taken earlier...

Compare him to Noah, Bynum, and Bogut. All those guys played 65 games or less last year. Kaman is only 28 and the prime of his career also.

I don't want to be that small in crunch time.  I want to be able to control the boards.  Or, I have to have one of my best two big men on the bench during that time.

And, it is to early to be drafting a 6th man when I only have two starters in place.

More talent offensively, a lot less defensively.  Once you take injuries into account, Okafor and Gasol have the edge.

In his 8 year career, only half the seasons did he play more then 65 games.

He has created a pattern.

So has Bynum, but he has a bigger upside.

Look at these guys games played the last three years from 2008-09 to 2010-11

Tyson chandler - 45, 51, 74
Joakim Noah - 80, 64, 48
Andrew Bynum - 50, 65, 54
Andrew Bogut - 36, 69, 65

All those guys were second rounders.. Only Noah's 80 game season tops Kaman's 76 season and none of those guys have been named an All Star.
