Congrats, Walker Wiggle! You should've won!

I'm pretty sure DeMarcus Cousins proved he wasn't ready for prime time last year, though.  We would have seen a lot of the Horford / Wallace lineup.
Plus if we're bagging on people based on real life injuries they were in serious trouble in the backcourt with Gordon's issues.

Legit question: who was coaching the Wigglers?

This guy.

I don't know, by the end of the season he seemed like he was hitting a groove. Starting to become real comfortable in the high post.

Did somebody say my name?

No pat on the back, Roy? I penciled DeMarcus Cousins in for 25-28 mpg, 12 points and 9 rebounds, lots of fouls, lots of mean mugging, and almost nobody - except Nick - was with me.

For the record Cousins averaged: 28.5 mpg, 14.1 ppg, 8.6 rpg 2.5 apg. That's close enough for horseshoes.

And you write "a lot of the Horford/Wallace lineup" like it would've been a bad thing? I can live with Wallace, Dorell Wright, Hoford small ball.

Also, Roy, since we're on the topic of me. I was wondering if you'd like to revise your thoughts on the below?

Quote from: Roy Hobbs
At PG, Baron Davis trumps Jrue Holiday by a wide margin at this point.

14.0 PTS .446 FG% .365 3PT% 6.5 AST 4 REB 1.5 STL 82 Games J. Holiday
13.1 PTS .417 FG% .339 3PT% 6.7 AST 2.7 REB 1.3 STL 58 Games B. Davis

Quote from: Roy Hobbs
Eric Gordon is better than Matthews, but Matthews should at least slow him down. I mean, Gordon is a good player, but he's not a superstar; he's still a 17 ppg scorer. Think Ron Mercer with a three point shot.

I said he'd have a breakout season and he did - 22.3 PTS on .566 TS% 4.4 AST

Quote from: Roy Hobbs
New Orleans can throw all the stats out that it wants about defense, offensive efficiency, etc., but at the end of the day, they're asking Jrue Holiday - an inexperienced PG who looks for his own shot - to create for a bunch of guys who struggle creating for themselves.

But I'm pretty sure all those stats checked out. Although I was wrong in one thing. I never once tooted the horn for Dorell Wright. Sorry Dorell.

Wait, are we bagging on people? And if we are, can we start with somebody else? Anyway, E.G. played in 56 games and would've been healthy for the playoffs. What's the problem?

I lost something like 3-18 in the first round to a team that literally had no back up point guard. But I can't start Dorell Wright or Raja Bell at SG for 26 mid-season games? You're a tough critic, Faf.

I try  ;).

Seriously Gordon wasn't the same after his injury, and Holiday wasn't the primary playmaker for the 76ers. I think he'd struggle in that role on your team, Gordon did alright with it but there is a reason the 76ers had Turner and Iggy handle so much.

I think your team would be setup very well for the future and being a solid team now.

No pat on the back, Roy?

In hindsight, I see your team a lot the same way I did previously:  a nice collection of talent, for a lot of players who haven't show a consistent ability to win and who aren't a great "fit" together.  Gordon, for all his stats, was still on a terrible team, as were Cousins, Udrih, and for most of the year, Wallace.

You also got almost nothing out of the majority of your bench (although Wright was a very nice surprise, albeit again on a terrible team).  Kleiza, Bell, Najera, Williams, and Mozgov just didn't add much, and McDyess backslid.

I think your team gets into the playoffs, but I disagree that it's anywhere close to championship caliber.

You really should get on board the E.G. bandwagon though. That kid is a gamer. Clippers or no.

Wait how deep did the Bucs need to go though? Ok, we lost Kleiza for the year. But, Dorell Wright, Beno Udrih , Antonio McDyess, Raja Bell aren't a bad sixth through nine rotation? I'd even argue Mozgov would've been one of the league's better third string centers.

They don't compare too badly to Chicago or Phoenix's reserves do they?

P.S. And Eduardo fills the Scalabrine role just fine, thanks.

all this bickering hearty disagreement makes me think that this year we should get assigned a team from a diferent conference and have to write the press conf. about *them* and vice-versa...

might make teams less desperate to defend every little thing about their own team and cut down on some of the more tedius debates.
