I like this for Milwaukee, and it makes sense for Charlotte.

Sacramento, though?  They move down in the draft and give up their starting point guard for a 31 year old John Salmons.  Udrih has $20.7 million left on his deal, and Salmons has $33.2 million left, so they're taking on a lot more salary, too.

Help me out.  Sacramento moved down in the draft, took on money, and got older, for a guy who is, at best, a lateral move compared to Udrih.  Why?

I'm with you. And seems to me Salmons only crowds a 2/3 rotation with no clear pecking order: Garcia, Casspi, Greene, and most likely Thornton. It's possible that another warm body lands in Sacramento? Or else a second trade?

Magette and the 7th? I think I'd rather have Captain Jack and the 19th. In fact I know I would.

Current wisdom claims this draft is nine, ten, or eleven players deep depending on what you read. And in my opinion, it's never a mistake to trade up for the player at the top of your board.

As for Maggette vs. Jackson? Captain Jack is the live-wire. But Skiles is going to greatly prefer his defense and passing, so much so that he'll live with all those long jumpers. Maggette is a better locker room influence for the rebuilding Bobcats. And he still gets to the line as well as anybody in this league.

I'm glad only because Corey's wildly unpredictable bench role on the Bucks has been killing me in fantasy for two years now.

None of Jack's teammates have ever complained about him, not even Duncan, but Maggette has been a dog his entire career.

Does this mean that SAC is moving Tyreke Evans back to PG?

Or Salmons a SF? I thought he was a SG.

Also, if you look at the contracts involved, SAC took on longer payroll and got back a worse pick. So it looks like they lose out on this deal from virtually every perspective (roster fit, draft pick, money).

I guess they really missed Salmons.

Meanwhile, looks like I held onto Beno a little too long in my fantasy league.

I think Sacramento trading the #10 to Denver for Felton makes a lot of sense.

Denver could go grab a guy like Klay Thompson who could really help them out

Milwaukee makes out like a bandit. Jennings, Jackson and Bogut is a great core.

My money is now on Salmons at small forward. He's started at the 3 for the Kings before. Kemba or Jimmer at 10, barring another deal.

And if I had to choose between Maggette and Jackson for who I'd want my younger players to be around and help build a team mentality I'd choose Jackson.

Tough call. Stephen "I get techs because I want to" Jackson plays with intensity, plays better defense, has won a title, but has also forced his way off one losing team already (Warriors), can be a hot head, and a distraction.

Maggette is much mellower, for better and worse. Both are ball-stoppers, but Corey is at least attacking the rim.

Yeah his teammates all like him off the court, even if they recognize that he's not the ideal team player on the court.

Magette has never recieved that sort of praise.

I think Jackson's defense, rebounding, and more varied offenseive game is better.

Hence why Charlotte was able to move him and move up in the draft.

Besides Jackson, I really like Livingston for the Bucks. Not so familiar with Beno, but he is at the very least, serviceable.

Forgot that Sacramento brought Salmons back lol...

Too bad we weren;t able to do something crazy like this last year with the 19th pick.

I would have done Magette/Jackson and 19 for 7 and Sheed last year.

7th pick turned into Greg Monroe.

I do think Milwaukee made out best.  The acquired the only quality player traded and also unloaded the 2 worst contracts in the trade.  So they had to downgrade fromm #7 to #19 in a weak draft... I could live with that.  I like this core.  Delfino is a quality starter to add at SG.  Udrih will be tradeable next season as an expiring contract.  Livingston is on a very team-friendly contract.

Maggette already ignored an open teammate and took it to the rack

Sacramento must be eyeing a PG either at #10 or some other way.  It makes absolutely zero sense otherwise.  Zero.
