I gotta say I don't see athleticism being that big of a factor for the starting unit.
The Celtics got killed when they put their reserve big men in the game but their starting lineup, as a unit, was very effective against athletic teams.
The Celtics need to address their lack of quickness / athleticism of their big men ... not come up with some sideways plan (start Green, bench Pierce) that doesn't address the actual problem and does very little to help situation.
Agree completely. I think Doc said it well when he said their goal this summer is to find guys who can go get the ball. This is something they haven't really had since they lost Powe (and after the knee injury, Powe isn't this kind of player anymore either). KG, Pierce, and Rondo can all do this in the starting lineup (although not as well as they used to be able to), but they really haven't had anyone other than maybe Tony Allen who could do it off the bench the last couple of years.
The starters are just fine on this team. Yes, they need to be able to limit their minutes a bit more, but what this team really needs are some guys who can go get the ball off the bench. Guys who will win the battles for the loose balls, so this team isn't constantly giving up a ton of extra shots to the other team.
