I don't know if it's possible, but I'd love to see if someone could post these squads in NBA 2K11 once it's all done?
That's a lot of work for some seriously silly results based on the last time it was done.

And that was without having to deal with using stats for older players!

Yeah, but there is already some confusion here, IMO, on how teams are constructed and whatnot.

To me, every poster here so far has picked a competitive squad.....at the end of the day, though, there will be some long debates on who works with who...who could've been picked earlier, etc.

I just think that with LA, I will encounter some bias on a Celtics Board, but that's just me.

You won't encounter any bias because you were assigned the Lakers. You could change your name to the "Massachusetts Bostonians" and I doubt it would make a difference.

Where you wanna look out for bias is against players, like Kareem, or other noteable Lakers. Look to see where Jerry West was drafted. Nick got 2 absolute steals, and you too with Kareem because they were Lakers. Elgin Baylor too.

Good point, but for the purposes of the draft, the only option I could go with, per the rules, was to change my name to the Minneapolis Lakers.

I chose to keep it LA. Even though I can't stand LA, I have utmost respect for them and their players.

Admittedly, I have not looked at quite as much video on Laker players until last week. They (LA) have had quite a few gems in their organization over the years.

They have not had the misfortune of say - a Bias or Lewis, but besides that they have been one of the best overall franchises.

I say just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.  It's not the CB draft.

I more ask it not to "win" but in consideration of certain players. There are certain players who are marginal at best but had one or two incredible seasons. I'm just wondering if these players should be considered.

  • Yup
I'm not crazy about him, but the primo big men are going fast, and I think the smaller guy I eying will be there in four picks when I pick again.  I'll go with my 2nd Dream Teamer.

THE ADMIRAL

David Robinson

Yup

Blast. I was hoping to add the Admiral with my next pick. Good pick. He's certainly not the most entertaining player, but definitely a good addition to any team.

I would definitely consider them unless they are Richard Dumas '92-93.

Single season is the way I'm going to try and look at it.

EDIT:  Dumas, Miller, whatever.

I absolutely LOVE the Robinson pick. His 94 season is one of the alltime greats.

All I can say is the Miami-Lakers battles with Wilt/McHale versus Kareem/KG is going to be nasty and intense.

I loved the Kevin Garnett pick.

I think he has tremendous value in an environment like this because of his versatility and defensive range. Please do not limit KG to one position. He has the ability to create or eliminate matchup advantages across the board. All five positions.

That's why I thought he'd be awesome with LeBron, two guys who could play anywhere and excel.

Oh yeah, that would have been beautiful.

That was the pick I was hoping Moranis was going to make too.

In the next two rounds, add in a top center with legitimate size and interior defense / rebounding + a quality ball-handler / passer / defender with size on the perimeter. Lovely stuff.
