I don't know if I could have gotten him later or not but there are 4 names that mean Boston Celtics to me. 3 of them are pictured below and the other is Larry Bird. Russell is during my lifetime but a little before my following the team so he doesn't get included.

This is also before my time but for those of us who choose to follow the Celts will live on forever...."Greer is putting the ball in play. He gets it out deep and Havlicek steals it! Over to Sam Jones! Havlicek stole the ball! It's all over...It's all over! Johnny Havlicek is being mobbed by the fans! It's all over! Johnny Havlicek stole the ball!"

"He is the best all-around player I ever saw," Bill Russell

These 2 guys were the start of it all for me and with that said…I will gladly take his 8 rings and his silver plated microphone and keep them wearing green forever...I select with pick 2.2…

John "Hondo" Havlicek and Johnny Most
"In my opinion, John Havlicek is the greatest basketball player who ever lived, bar none. I'm not saying he has more ability, I'm saying he's the greatest player, because he can beat you so many ways, and nobody, nobody goes as hard for as long as he does," Bobby Knight.

Once I figure out how the coaching selection for this works you can bet that the 3rd guy in the photo (We want RED!) will also be joining John & Johnny on our team.

Two great picks from players whose picks I dont like that much on round 1

Oh yeah, didn't see Moranis' pick.

I need a big man but no chance I let this first rounder slip any further.

I also like the pick, but if Roy's modern rules post is the standard I would have gone another way personally. But Moses was one of two I was guessing you'd go with.

Really like the first two picks of the round so far.
Thanks. And thanks Edgar. Hondo is my guy and I don't think I have ever heard anyone say anything that wasn't positive about him.

Very fundamentally sound team right now.  Plus great character.

He wasn't the next 2 guard I thought would come off the list, but he's a solid pick here considering the next 'great' big men available.

If I wasn't picking behind Nick, I'd have to adjust my draft strategy.

Really??  I'd like to know who you have before him.  I wouldn't even put Kobe ahead of him, although that's certainly debatable.

I got hurt last year by not grabbing a big name center, and I wasn't going to do that again.  Besides, I like Moses' MVP seasons a lot, especially 78/79 when he grabbed 7.2 offensive rebounds a game (also a 2nd team all defense).  I may still go with his Title season of 82/83 (when he was 1st team all defense as well as MVP).  Moses also wasn't a guy that demanded the ball as much as a lot of the great centers, so I think he would actually be a great fit with Lebron.
