Interesting enough, Who nailed the year I was thinking for Wilt. 67. 24PPG, 8APG, 24RPG, great D, team orientated approach. Still dominate but playing winning ball.

That....is a mind-blowing stat line. Just wow.

I saw some footage on Wilt from back in the day, and he just towered over players...many of these guys were regular-sized NBA players, too - by today's standards.

The Big Dipper.
Yeah and it doesn't even include how many of the 20,000 women he....liked to talk about...!!

Only 9 a week, totally doable, and that's if he started when he was 15.  Maybe it was different back then but I'm sure NBA players today start even earlier.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm curious to see if last night's game will effect people's decision making when it comes to this draft. A lot of interesting stories.

9 a week, that's pretty weak, I've heard stories of Wilt bagging 9 at once.

I want to see how many of my top 4 last till my pick.
I know I'm getting my top guy, but frankly I'm curious to see what happens after my selection and who gets taken.

Also, as an aside, I have some odd picks planned, I just have no idea when to draft these guys I'm thinking of and how the picks will be viewed by the panelists.  These types of drafts are always weird in that people often take the whole career and can't separate an individual season from the career.  I ran into that problem last time we did this.

I wish I knew you're pick because I have 1 guy lined up and not a great backup plan for my pick at 2.2.
My original plan was what I would consider a little on the odd side too. There's not much doubt that everyone is going to have a stacked roster when we're done but trying to figure out what our evaluators are looking for is a totally different story. It gets really difficult when you have to consider how a player impacts his teammates and how the whole team performs. You can't just take Wilt averaging 50 and 30 and run with it.

Second, picking a set of rules on defense to play under is not going to happen same as I am not going to decide if the teams are going to play with or without a three point line, with two refs or three, or any other rules changes that have occurred since 1959.

While I hear what you're saying, and their are practical difficulties.  At the same time, I do think it's odd not to have any standards, yet have panelists judge teams based upon their own criteria.  Playing a game, but not having notice of the rules, just is counter-intuitive to me.

That being the case, out of fairness I'm going to let the team owners know what my personal judging criteria will be.  If Edgar and Dons want to share there's, good for them; I think it would be more fair to the contestants.

So, for me, I'll be assuming these teams are playing under current rules.  While I personally prefer a 1980s style of game, I think the current rules are the ones our GMs are most familiar with.  That means there's a three point line, there's no hand-checking, the width of the lane is its current width, the game is less physical overall, etc.

Everything else, I'll keep to myself (i.e., my views on how 1960s players would adjust to the modern age, whether "one year wonders" count the same as all-time greats, how chemistry factors in, the effect of injuries, etc.)  I'll share my views on all of that at the end of the game.  However, regarding the basic rules of basketball teams will be playing, I figured it was fair to let folks know where I was coming from, and how I'd be judging.

You only need to come up with 2 guys, so you might as well figure out the second guy just in case.  Though I did say earlier it was a big, don't know if that helps you or not.

For the record I'm always willing to trade, so if anyone wants to trade players or draft slots, just let me know.

Yes I caught your big comment and my guy is probably not classified as a big so I'm probably safe. I have several backups just haven't settled on which one and if you happen to select my guy I'll just have to speed things up for my pick.

Here's the thing Roy, I don't see this as a game. I see it as a beauty contest, not a game. Its a judgment of aesthetics of the game and performances not specific rules that players will play in.

But then again to each his own in this endeavor and I'm sure the team owners appreciate your criteria.
