  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Thought I'd re hash this this thread so people can re- evaluate what they were thinking almost exactly two years ago.
Please don't delete or lock this thread mods, it's an interesting retrospect and a lot of people flamed me for this proposal.

My question to those who trout it was ridiculous at the time, would you do the trade if you could go back?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Would've done it with Ray Allen.

But we still need a big man who can rebound. Preferably a key player.

I probably would have done it then as I felt Boston was done as a contender in the summer of 2011 (though I was wrong as 2012 was a nice playoff run) and this would have been a pretty solid return for Pierce and Allen.  In retrospect, I absolutely would have made the trade.
