This has be a joke

I'm 100% serious.

Deng is having a career year. Sometimes I wonder if people watch other NBA games other than Celtics games.
I remember when I said we should go after Zac Randolph and people said PUKE/NO WAY etc but I'm thinking about younger replacements for our current team.
Gibson is a great 6th man and Deng is in my opinion one of the best defensive forwards (if not the best) in the league.
He can also create his own shot and hustles his behind off. He is fragile though as someone mentioned earlier.
Gibson is the lesser part of the trade and as I said, we could get even more for Ray+Pierce, maybe Asik aswell or a pick.

We ain't going anywhere further than the 2nd round with the current roster. Pierce cannot guard Carmelo then James then Deng or Joe Johnson next year- his legs will completely take him out of the game on offense from running around after these guys.

It's a suggestion and I feel that we need to get back to our defensive ways to have a chance against these younger teams for the next 2 years.

edit: forgot to add that our key issues will be guarding Lebron +Melo for the next 5 years at least.
Deng is one of the better candidates for this right now and an aging Ray allen is what the Bulls need. I doubt they would trade straight up Ray for Deng or Paul Pierce for Deng. Maybe Pierce plus picks or something.Doubt it.
This is why Chicago wouldn't do the trade.  They need Deng for those top wing assignments just as you suggest the C's do.  They also wouldn't trade away their youth for old players.  Beyond that, they aren't doing big blowup trades with how close they are now.

No.  Neither player is a building block.  If we're going to kill our chances in the short term, I'd want a can't miss type of guy who might be able to lead this team somewhere in the future.
You don't consider Deng a building block? He's the 2nd best player on the ECF team.
I guess it will depend on how he handles Lebron in the ECF.
Seems like one of the best options as far as replacing Pierce for the long term is concerned.
Although the money is huge which I didn't consider.
Is the second best player on the Mavs (WCF team) a 'building block?

Is Deng actually the second best player on the Bulls? Better than both Noah and Boozer?

I like both guys but the only thing this does is push us closer to mediocrity. If this happened Chicago would probably win the title next year while we're counting down the days until the draft lottery. Deng is good but is nowhere close to a building block.

Chicago could win the title, but realistically we aren't winning another championship with these guys starting at the 2 and 3 spot unless we can get dwight howard or Chris Paul (some extra scorers who fill rebounding + pick n roll scoring).

Imagine a starting 5 of:

Rondo
Deng
Gibson
Dwight Howard
*TBA 2 guard* (insert potential all star here).

The defensive toughness of that team is unreal and could contend for a good 4-6 years against the Heat.

We would get Taj and Deng long term, as both are entering their prime..Ray and Paul are still great but are declining now and will do so for the next 2-3 years.
Just thinking long term, because they are two guys without huge contracts but who get the job done. Would leave plenty of money leftover to go after a sweet 2 guard to help Dwight score.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Only if Scalabrine was included in the trade.

I miss the good old days when we'd have him to throw in every conceivable ridiculous trade proposal.

No I would not accept this trade. Deng has the luxury of playing alongside Derrick Rose. Deng on the floor with Rondo and Delonte West is not going to be anywhere near as effective.

????

Deng would be a 20ppg scorer easily with a pass first PG.

Still would never happen.

Trading two of the team's best players..Paul in particular..No matter what the result...Would probably be the only way to guaranty a sag in attendance.

I doubt that Paul will go anywhere under any circumstance.

i would make a trade LIKE this one...the celts have to get younger and get some players with upside...although dumping pierce would be a disaster for public relations and the continuity of the squad.

I think that if Deng and Gibson played with a pass first PG, their points would sky rocket (particularly Deng's).
We'd also have a guy who can guard Lebron for the next 5 years.
But this is probably why Chicago would never do the trade (as someone mentioned earlier).
They are giving up two young studs for two old guys who have passed their primes and have a good 2-3 years left at most.

That is about the smartest idea I have seen in this trade thread (That is a TP). I just don't believe you should breakup your core because of a bad series against My Hammy. Frankly, I think we could have beaten Chicago and My Hammy if Shaq were available (meaning that no PT for BBD) and Rondo was healthy.

I'll trade them BBD for Brian Scalabrine  :P
The beatings will continue until morale improves
