Like the subject says. I don't get it. Why does he get minutes late in games *regardless* of how he performs? It's like a broken record.

Probably that Doc has very options at Big man right now. Basically it is KG, BBD, and JO to cover the 4 and 5 spots. Nenad Krstic does not add that much at this level of competition. Having KG, BBD, JO, and PERKINS!!!! would have been much better this campaign.

Blame this one on the trade in February that is in danger of taking us out of our campaign.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Well he USED to be good in that role.

He hasnt really played well for a while. Not sure he is a great matchup for the Heat.

He is a major part of this team though and while he is not the most consistent guy, he has to give us something in Boston. I think he will.

As noted, who else is he going to put out there?  Jeff Green?  Baby's MASSIVE regression this year is one of the main reasons (besides the trade) that we're struggling so bad, but to blame Doc Rivers for putting him out there...  who else is he going to play?

At least Baby's been a decent defensive player for much of his career, Green's been getting absolutely abused (and Krstic is worse).

J Oneal. the guy who started the game, was playing well and then sat on the bench for most of the 4th quarter while it  slipped away

JO was rebounding aggressively, and keeping things competitive. Baby had the nice and 1 and then just kept getting no foul calls or blocked or whatever and things fell apart.

No Perk, No Shaq....

I wouldn't mind seeing some Green at the PF for a few late game possessions....

I've never been able to figure this out either... I would much rather see Green play late minutes at the PF spot. It seems like Baby is intentionally playing poorly to make a point to the team or something, I dont understand it.

I'd rather have pretty much anyone over BBD.  At this point I think Murphy would be a better option because at least he will try to guard someone.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

He must have some photos of Doc doing something Mrs. Doc wouldn't approve of. There is no reason based on his play he should be on this team, let alone seeing major minutes.

Exactly. He was playing well and there he sits. Doc is losing this series for us.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

We have no other bigs to come off the bench...but I dont get the minutes he's playing over JO.  I have to believe that he's still hurting

At the VERY LEAST JO does what Big Baby does with more height

That's what I'm thinking.  JO's not able to play much more than he is, about twenty minutes a game.  He's only had two games since he returned where he played much more than that - the one regular season game where he went 37, and game 3 against the Knicks (27 minutes).  Otherwise, it's been basically 20-22 a night.

Should he have played a little more last night?  Sure.  Expecting him to be our savior in the paint, though?  Not gonna happen, that's why we need Shaq (and why we shouldn't have made the trade).

The same reason he gets so many early minutes. :o

I have no idea on that either.
