The series is far from "over" ... it's the best of seven, not the best of three. 'Nuf said.

True.  However, it's worth noting that we can only afford to lose one more game in the entire series, which means we'll have to win 4 straight games or else win a tough game 7 in Miami.

The series isn't over yet, but the situation in which the Celtics find themselves is a nearly impossible one given the current state of their roster.

Unfortunately, there's not much in the way of good news to talk about with regard to the immediate future.  The draft this year will be incredibly weak and shallow, and the Celtics will not have any decent picks anyway.  The lockout may prevent Danny from making any significant moves this summer to begin the rebuilding process.

It could be quite some time before we have a clear idea of what the future will look like for the Celtics, and much longer before we have an exciting team with the potential to be great for years to come.  Before long, we will all likely have to go back to receiving our thrill of victory voyeuristically through watching other teams that we like (e.g. not the Lakers or the Heat).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

  • KG is da Man
We got 3 games at home,

and need to win 1 from 2 away, nothing's changed.

Who honestly thought we were ever going to win 2 games at Miami??

the fact that we need to win game 5 or 7, is no different to us "having to win" game 2
Anything is possible!!!

Oh heck no  the WHOLE team better not let them punk them into some crybabies. They will not go down like that and I hope they protect their homecourt. Heat fans already saying gotta broom and getting confident about this. Please let this team win the two at home to tie the series and win either game 5 and 6 or game 6 and 7 or game 5 and 7,but they better not back down and Shaq better get his 39 year old self up there and demolish them. KG needs to get his intensity back  like 08 or in the Knicks playoffs or the opening game and the bench has got to step it up. I keep saying it, but ts true this bench has too much talent to not win and Big baby is getting me angry with him to the point where I want him gone.

Obviously the C's havn't looked good, but really nothing has happened yet.  The Heat won two home games like they were suppposed to do.  Now we can win our home games and we are even.

Not as impossible as it sounds. Let's say we win the next two (and we clearly should with HC), then it's 2-2 and we're back to Miami with the pressure all on the Heat's shoulders since they have to defend HC. I think we can definitely take game 5 and then either win game 6 or 7.

To use a cliché let's take it one game at a time but clearly I just don't see why we could not win multiple games in a row against them, it's not like we got blown out in each game so far, they were close games.

game 1 had the Heat up by a huge margin for a lot of that game.  to me, the game wasn't as close as the score indicates.  I don't take the 9 point difference as a reason for optimism but as a sign they were lucky to get it that close.

Game 2 saw them tied with around 7 minutes to go and then go into an immediate meltdown.  the game was close until then but that meltdown was down right disheartening especially since this is a veteran, championship team (well, 5 of the players are) that should know what it takes to win and then perform like champions.  didn't happen.

we'll see what happens in game 3.  I would "expect" they'll come out fired up like they're not ready to give up this season.  hopefully that's the case and also, hopefully they don't treat that as their 'statement' game or get complacent for game 4 and hand that one over to the Heat.
