i hope we keep Nenad.

I wouldn't mind having him back in a similar role (3rd back up Center).

he is consistently reliable.

He hasn't been consistent though...had good first 5-6 games as a Celtic but didn't do much else until this afternoon.

The title of this thread reminds me of the South Park episode where they were singing "Getting gay with kids is here!"   and they offered to sing it to the Columbian general and he was like "No. We will not be getting gay with kids"

Seriously.  You give Nenad some love.    :D

No. But honestly. I know it's negative but this thread is perfect evidence to me of how horrid this trade was.  oooohhhh wooowww.....4 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks.  Let's give some love!

That's what we're reduced to.  That's now a great line for a Celts forward not named KG or Pierce.

well, it's better than what Nate's contributed, right?

Plus, there's that juicy 1st rounder
It's a million billion times better.

And tell me about that juicy first rounder.  Oh baby oh baby. Clippers first rounder. YES!

Hey, I like what he did. I'd take 10 minutes a night versus Miami from him, unless Shaq is back. Then I want the O'Neal brothers show.

Nenad is effectively a 2nd string Center, not 3rd,
he's good enough for 2 or 2 1/2 string.
Remember he will get better next year also.
we've done worse !

Good to see that.We could use solid minutes from Stitch as we go deeper into the playoffs.

Played strong when he first got here. Am sure he can help out if Shaq does not make it back. In my view he is replacing an injured Semih, not Perk. He can do that and then some.

I hope he doesn't play at all in the next series, it'd mean that Shaq is back.

Are Jermaine O'Neal minutes limited? Why isn't he playing more than 25mpg? If Shaq can't go, it'd be important to have Jermaine playing 30 to 35 minutes per game versus Miami.

I think JO would ideally play more minutes, but he has been in constant foul trouble.

I also thought that the first games, but now I don't know, tonight he could have come back earlier in the 2rd and 4th quarters if it was just for the foul trouble.

Hey, mark my words: Nenad will be huge for us against Miami and Chicago.

In fact, we don't need Shaq against Miami, 25 minutes from JO will be enough, and Miami's bigs are easier to defend, so I'll even approve some Baby at the 5.

JO won't play big minutes, the Celtics are hiding their cards under their sleeve. A Billups-less NY Bricks team wasn't going to demand more than that.

Shaq will be used against Chicago and he'll be at full-speed against the Fakers.

The problem isn't defending Miami's centers.

It's protecting the rim and defending the dribble penetration from Miami's wings.

25 mpg from Jermaine O'Neal with no Shaq will leave Boston's defense too permeable. They need better rim protection. Baby and Krstic are awful at that.

With Krstic playing like is able to, we could easily get 10-15, possibly even 20 points out of him on most nights.

If Krstic is capable of this, why isn't he doing it?  Heck, he scored 4 points tonight and people are applauding him as if he made a major contribution.  I mean, is the bar that low for him?  Any time he does something remotely useful, it should be celebrated?

The claim quoted above sounds as sincere as Sasha Vujacic claiming he can score 20 to 30 points every night if he wanted to.  It's just not based in objective reality.

Quote
Some should not be confused by the fact that he isn't getting too much playing time. In the regular season, we saw clearly how dangerous Krstic can be.

By your theory, is Doc just trying to lose games?  Or at least to make them closer than they should be?  Why, with Shaq injured, would our coach not be playing Krstic, if he's as good as you say?

Quote
He can be our most productive offensive big man, easily. He has proven that much.

If "production" means points, maybe.  If it means wins, then no, he hasn't proven that at all.

Spoiled fans.  Atlanta is playing any 7 footer they can find walking around in the street against Dwight Howard, who's going crazy and the Magic are still losing.  Hornets are forced to play Aaron Grey, and Mbenga against the Laker front-line, and they took a game.  Knicks had to play Turiaf and Jared Jeffries as their centers.  Miami playing Ilgauskus and Anthony.  Any one of these teams would LOVE to have Kristic START for them let alone come off the bench.
Kristic is a young, big, highly skilled center, who was a double-double machine before he was set back with injuries.  I love this team right now.  One week of rest and practice coming up before playing the winner of Miami/Philly.  Our bench is going to own the next series.
