Feeling like the Thunder threw their expendable garbage at us.

A big goofy Euro softie who is getting no minutes in the Playoffs.

And Jeff "where's my passion" Green. A guy who I can hardly believe was playing 37 minutes a night out of position.

If we got Ibaka back in that Deal, they can keep the first round pick.

Now I know that Presti wants to keep both players, but too bad, you have to give up something important to get a Legit NBA Center, or maybe you don't.

How about Shaq, Baby, and Perk, for Ibaka and fillers.

Or Harden straight up for Perk.

I think losing Jeff was addition by subtraction honestly.

And throw in Perk's spirit and toughness and the team is better now, no question.

Danny I hipe you have big plans with the First rounder.

P.S.  KG, Ibaka and Jermaine would have been fun to watch that's for sure.

I love Ibaka, awesome player, and would get into UNBUTU that's for sure.

not a doubt in my mind we'd be in beast mode if we had Gerald Wallace right now. Just wish that had been a posibility cus he'd be just what we need against the Heat. Hope Green can step it up though he's important.

lol you're kidding yourself if you think they were giving up ibaka and Krstic for Perk.

Ibaka looks great because he's starting.
If Green were starting at the 3 spot he'd look like a beast as well and his confidence would be flying.

Try and use some perspective. Green is coming off the bench after averaging 37 minutes a game as one of the go to guys on that team.
He is now the 6th-7th option on a championship caliber team backing up a team of all stars.
It takes serious time to get used to such a role reversal.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Did I say we keep Kristic too? No. I did not.

I just want Ibaka or Harden, that's it.

No thanks...I'Block'a as he's sometimes called - is a very good player, and will be great someday. But we already have a backup for KG....that backup is either missing or injured right now, but I know he'll turn up sooner or later. Glen Davis will be there when we need him - even though I thought we needed him yesterday :).

And I like Jeff Green...he will be a glue guy - as soon as he gets comfortable. Some on here have mentioned how long it takes a player to get used to our offense and defense..JG deserves that opportunity to really find his groove, and he is in fact doing it now to a certain degree.

Nenad? Not a good series so far, but I believe he'll be effective, too - when the time comes.

ok you're statement wasn't 'I just wish we had done Perk straight up for Ibaka'..it was 'if we got ibaka, they can keep the first round pick'.

Haha there would've been even more uproar if we had traded Ibaka straight for Perk than there is for the actual trade that happened.

Perkins for Harden has to be a bigger joke?
I'm sorry but Jeff Green is better than Harden and way more versatile.
Remember how crap Harden was coming of OKC bench? then just imagine how awful he would be coming in for us.

I think that alot of people make this fundamental error.  They watch games on television of another team.  It usually happens after a trade.  They tune into watch their guy play for another team.  In doing so, they start to like certain players who happen to be having good games.  Ibaka and Harden are these guys.

I did not see any pre-trade calls to acquire these players.  Most fans here would have thought
Ibaka was another name for a wookie...

I think both Ibaka and Harden have merit as role players.  They do some really good things in the OKC scheme of things.

Many of the fans are making it hard for Jeff Green.

I'm half expecting all the "Get 'Toine, Where's Gerald Green, Bring Posey Back, Leon Powe is Better than Baby" thread writers to stay on your Perk for Green was a terrible trade bandwagon.

Here's the deal,  Jeff Green is a multi-talented player who does many good things for his team.  Anyone whose ever coached him will tell you that.  This will play out in the future.

The draft pick will prove of great value.

I'll admit I've always wanted the Celtics to somehow acquire people like Caron Butler, Gerald Wallace, Shane Battier, Joe Crawford.

I find it curious that you aren't all challenging the Celtic front office on how they let Al Jefferson land in Utah, and Beasley land in Minnesota.  Look back at those deals last summer.

Why is there no, "We could have had Deron Williams"  thread up.

One could argue that Rondo cost Boston the 2nd seed, maybe the first.  His play in the last 20 regular season games was clearly subpar.

All we hear on this blog is recycled Jeff Green criticism, Perk love, Danny hate.  All you do is put it under a different title.

You ought to be sending Jermaine O'Neal video clips of great Celtic role players who changed the outcome of playoff series and  the entire Celtic Video collection.  And get Shaq swimming
to rehab his calfs and achilles.

And I'll still say this:

GO GREEN!!!

I think Presti wanted to add to his core, rather than to change it. I think he sees Ibaka and Harden (and now Perk) as core pieces, while Green was not in that core.

Very true.  Green just did not fit in long term because of Durant.   They have a much more balanced team now and Ibaka can play his natural position.

Green is a lot like Marquis was in his quiet even keel demeanor. I do think he does play hard, but that gets lost because he's not demonstrative.

Think about it this way...
If Green had the same exact game, but was screaming, scowling, and fist pumping all the time, then many people would say they love his heart and aggressiveness.

I want defensive rocks at both my starting frontcourt positions, thank you.  (With at least one of them a strong scorer.)=-

No chance of Oklahoma giving up Serge Ibaka in that deal. Promoting Ibaka to the starting lineup and guaranteeing him starters minutes was just as important to the trade as acquiring Perk. There is no way they would have given up Ibaka. They rated him too highly and rightly so.

James Harden, on the other hand, might have been a possibility. The Thunder would have pushed Green hard and been much more interested in moving Green due to his high contract demands which Presti had been uneasy about for well over a year prior to making to this trade. But maybe, maybe, they would have moved Harden instead.

After all, Jeff Green would have been a terrific backup combo forward on that roster.

I'd rather have Ibaka or Harden than Green.  By the way, even though Green is American, he also seems to fit the profile of big goofy Euro softie.  He looks goofy and has a very soft Euro style game.

I dont think half the people on this board even knew who Serge Ibaka was until he played beside Perk.

Yeah we saw him get robbed in the dunk contest before he played with Perk!  Seriously, Ibaka has been great all year.
