Let's wait until Shaq comes back to judge the trade.

We can't judge the trade until the playoffs begin.

Next, we'll be asked to wait and see how that future Clippers pick turns out for us before we can call it a failure.
You and anyone else can judge the trade whenever you like.  The folks who want to reserve judgment until the fullness of time, can also do so.  It would be nice if they could do so without being mocked for it, but let's not get greedy here.

I haven't mocked anybody. If you want to see mocked, read the names some people have used to describe Perk and his play.

Well, I'm starting to question a bit now with Shaq's health.  It's like night and day out there when JO is in and out of the game.  Having him and Perk to play essentially the whole game at center would've pretty much covered us.

Still, let's not count our chickens yet.  While I'd say it's unlikely that Jeff Green becomes a huge difference maker, you really never know.  No one would've thought that Nate Robinson would've done what he did last year either.  And against Miami Pierce and Allen may get in enough foul trouble that we may need Jeff Green for long enough stretches for him to make a difference.

Same with Shaq.  It looks bad now, but what happens if he plays Game 4 and all is fine?

Again, I do feel like this trade may have been too much of a gamble, but until we get knocked out, it's really too early to say anything.

Yeah...there's just no reason for a team who is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference to be trading away half of its team.

Just a really ignorant move.  It's only when you see the team on the floor the way it's currently constructed that you remember how good we were the first half of the season.

Even though injuries were going to be a concern for the remainder of the regular season...it's not like we were going to fall any lower than we did anyway

Aside from Perkins, what other players should Ainge not have traded?

I fail to see how any of the other traded players would have contributed in any meaningful way to the team after February 22. Erden, Daniels, and Robinson have combined for 95 minutes since the trade, due to injury.

For continuity's sake, should Ainge have kept three inactive players, and inserted Bradley and Harangody into the rotation?

I haven't mocked anybody.

No, you've just insinuated unflattering things about people, instead.  Similar to how I am not replying to your post right now, I just punched a few keys and wow look what happened.

Cut it out with the personal jabs, and calling each other out.  Consider everyone warned.

Except that we were in no way head and shoulders above the conference, especially after Quis got hurt.

EDIT: I see GF1819 posted that already. ;D

Allow me to elaborate..

I won't judge the trade until we see how Jeff and Nenad pans out, how our regular season ends, and how that 1st round pick pans out.

Is that better? :)

For the record, I did not take BareFacedMonks's post as mocking in any way.

Sorry to see the thread degrade to this point.

I actually bet they were pretty civil, since everyone was probably in agreement in their hatred of Lebron.

The fact that there is still so much venom about this trade illustrates how it wasn't as cut and dry in either direction.

Which is why the trade for Parker should have been made, an easy replacement at one spot off the bench

And what makes you think it was available?  And for what price?
