after i guess the little scare of what was reports that shaq may be out for the season ,that is what made me realize the trade was and is too much of a risk

i kno money became an issue but we all know even green isnt automatically going to stay he;ll listen to offers(though its hard to imagine danny will let him walk)

even so perk loved being a celt if he did walk it dosent rule out a possible sign & trade in the offseason so perk can get what he wants & we'll get something for him

a guy like sasha, corey brewer(WHY DID DALLAS GO OUT OF THIER WAY TO SIGN HIM & HE ISNT EVEN PLAYING?!?!) or rasual butler couldve done the job

i like what jeff green is doing & i think he's helping and will continue to help us in the playoffs but danny taking that risk was just a little bit much

i dont buy the phycoligical edge thing we supposebly had over teams but having perk here wouldve been better than a possibility of shaq returning  but whats done is done i now realised it & ive vented to all those who will read this (thanks)

p.s. i am in no way shape or form giving up on the celtics i feel with shaq we can/will win it all i just dont like the risk of the trade

Perk was a risk too being injured at the time of the trade.  It just happened to pan out.  We'll never know if Sasha could have done the job since we haven't seen him out there yet.

How'd you guess?  ;D

I believe there is sufficient info to deny the OP (all respect intended).

For me? Let's wait until after the season is over and let's see what Danny will do with that 1st rounder he pried off of OKC.

Let's wait until Shaq comes back to judge the trade.

We can't judge the trade until the playoffs begin.

Next, we'll be asked to wait and see how that future Clippers pick turns out for us before we can call it a failure.

EDIT: I see GF1819 posted that already. ;D

Right you are!

I think I have made my opinion clear on the trade...

But I did need to comment on this part:

corey brewer(WHY DID DALLAS GO OUT OF THIER WAY TO SIGN HIM & HE ISNT EVEN PLAYING?!?!)

Maybe he is just not very good, and that is why the TWolves had no problem giving him up, and the Knicks had no problem cutting him.

The fact that Semih and 'Gody got traded to the Cavs for nothing more than a 2nd rounder should tell you that Semih for Parker was never on the table.

Allow me to elaborate..

I won't judge the trade until we see how Jeff and Nenad pans out, how our regular season ends, and how that 1st round pick pans out.

Is that better? :)

Give 'em a few cash considerations and he's back on the table.  Semih + $1M for Anthony Parker?  Why on earth would Cleveland say no to that?

unless what i was reading was way off base thats all they wanted was semih or asik from the bulls

That's what I was reading at the time, but it's hard to know what the truth was.  I can't imagine Cleveland wanted much, that there was no way to get a trade done.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd feel a lot better with Anthony Parker out there than Jeff Green.  There's no denying Green's far superior talent, but that's not doing us a bit of good when he's playing like a deer-in-the-headlights rookie.

Well, it was reported that they wanted Asik from the Bulls, and a reporter sepculated that means they would only want Semih from the C's.  That is a huge stretch since comparing Semih and Asik is like comparing Perkins and Nazr Mohammed.  Yeah, they play the same position, but they are nowhere near the same caliber.

Ask Cleveland.  Without evidence that such an offer would have been taken, I can't assume it was available.

Let's wait until Shaq comes back to judge the trade.

You and anyone else can judge the trade whenever you like.  The folks who want to reserve judgment until the fullness of time, can also do so.  It would be nice if they could do so without being mocked for it, but let's not get greedy here.

Yeah...there's just no reason for a team who is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference to be trading away half of its team.

Just a really ignorant move.  It's only when you see the team on the floor the way it's currently constructed that you remember how good we were the first half of the season.

Even though injuries were going to be a concern for the remainder of the regular season...it's not like we were going to fall any lower than we did anyway
