I couldn't put my finger on it but felt something was missing from this year's playoofs. Then I realized, the lakers are down and phil hasn't complained about the officiating. Well, order has been restored to the universe:
Phil Jackson has tried to get Pau Gasol to play through referees’ calls or non-calls instead of dwelling on them.
Jackson, though, jumped to the other side Saturday before Lakers’ practice, complaining about Dallas defenders using a raised knee to Gasol’s backside to prevent him from getting deep post position — without drawing foul calls.
Jackson said the Lakers were “resigned” to not getting the calls and settling for Gasol to play more face-up offense.
“We didn’t complain about it against New Orleans, but the Mavs are doing the same [dang]ed thing,” Jackson said. “Until the league goes back to the rules that they have about playing post play, Pau’s got to move out and face the basket.”
Expect Dallas' bigs in early foul trouble today.
