Crap...I think I really jinxed the Mavs. Their seven game winning streak might come to an end tonight. >:(

If we actually won Durant in that draft instead of trading for Ray, we might be one championship short but our team would still be a very entertaining competitive playoff team. Wow, Durant is spectacular.

They still have about 5 minutes left and they're only down by 5. I know +/- probably don't mean anything, but is Westbrook playing bad along with Kidd and Dirk?

He is much better tonight compared to his last game. Maynor, Harden and Collison have been solid coming off the bench.

I don't know if its true or not but one of the commentators said that the only player who has a better FT% than Dirk in the playoffs is Larry Bird.
Dirk is 12th and Bird 10th.

Ahead of them are -- Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Peja Stojakovic, Steve Nash, Hersey Hawkins, Kiki Vandeweghe, Bill Sharman, Calvin Murphy and #1 Mark Price.

----------------------------------------------

Dirk and Bird have taken and made the most free throws of any players off of that list though. Both of around 900 made FTs.

They have more than double the number of made FTs than everyone else on that list except for Reggie Miller (770). And Chauncey Billups (776) who is 16th in FT% and is in third place for makes out of those high percentage FT shooters. Interesting.

I'd definitely consider Dirk and Bird the two best FT shooters in NBA history given their number of attempts and accuracy levels.

--------------------------------------

I decided to run a different search. I looked for players with 400+ made free throws in the playoffs and a FT% of greater than 86%.

One other name popped up - Rip Hamilton - not a guy I expected to see on this list. 598 makes on 688 attempts. That is a lot of free throws for a guy who is fairly mediocre at getting to the line normally. I suppose the added minutes played per game in the playoffs titled things. Still, nice achievement from Rip.

If I lower it again to 85%, Oscar Robertson (560) and Joe Dumars (406 made FTs) are added to the list.

Thanks Who. TP. That was an informative post. Maybe ESPN should read it too. :D

But I also remember them saying it was for players who had take 1000 or more FTs. I'm not sure though.

Westbrook looks p---ed on the bench.

Scott Brooks sat him down after his foul on Kidd at the start of the 4th Q. He was furious at that time...lots of F bombs on the bench...it was the right decision though. Maynor is playing well.

EDIT: it was at the end of 3rd Q.

Westbrook needs to grow up. Yea if you want to play you get mad, but don't have hissy fits and cursing because you were told to sit down. I've heard he's a bit immature and I can see it in his stubborn attitude when asked to sit. Just accept it and move on till either when he asks you to go back or when it's the next game
