And people thought Chicago actually had a chance HAHA.

It really brings to light how tough the celts played Miami. No homecourt Rondo with one arm and even the Shaq injury. We were a Rondo wide open layup from at least going 6 games.

Also obviously as a couple weeks pass people forget about how poorly those games were officiated and some of the timely terrible calls.

Horrible  final possession from the bulls. Who would have guessed a D.Rose iso three?

Korver was only WIDE open at the top of the arc.

  • Rondo = Good
I'm looking forward to the NBA Finals.  Two very talented teams meeting there that have basically wrecked through their respective conferences (both won in 15 games), and boast some incredible superstar talent.

I think the Mavs match up well with the Heat, but it's hard to predict how this series will go.

At PG, the Mavs' combo of Kidd and Barea is far more potent than Chalmers and Bibby.  It's not even close.

At SG, Miami has a clear edge, although there's a reasonable hope that chasing JET around screens might tire out Wade (the way chasing Ray often did during the regular season).

At SF, Miami has a total edge, as well.  However, Dallas' best 1 on 1 stopper plays at SF (Marion).  Off the bench, Dallas has a very good outside shooter who can keep LeBron from roaming off the perimeter to help inside.

At PF, both teams have a very talented player, but Dirk is really far better than Chris Bosh.  In fact, in this post-season, Dirk might be the best player on either team.  If Dirk can dominate this matchup it'll go a long way towards giving the Mavs their first championship.

At C, the Mavs have a big edge as well -- literally.  Neither Big Z nor Joel Anthony can match up effectively with the size, length, and shot-blocking of Tyson Chandler and Brendan Haywood.  Neither of the Mavs' centers may be particularly talented offensively, but they will make Miami pay inside on both ends if the Heat do not pay attention to them.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Barea can be huge in this series. The Heat will have a hard time staying in front of him, and thanks to the Dirk effect we'll see a ton of penetration with floaters and drive-and-dishes from him.

Just done watching... Man that was harsh. Totally undeserved. I thought Miami got boatloads of calls too.

that was disgusting, the bulls had no chance

I feel so bad, i really feel celtics could have beat the heat had rondo been healthy

game 4 wouldnt have went to ot if we had a healthy rondo, no way he misses that layup and no way it would even be that close

game 5 celtic had in the bag if rondo was full strength celtics may have been up 10-12 points instead of 5

it sucks, but celtics were the only chance in the east to knock them off, hence why lebron acted like they had just won the championshiop when they won game 5

they acted like it was nothing when they beat the bulls

Just saw the highlights.  Shame I missed it.

Whose crunch time brilliance is going to hold up between Miami and Dallas?

I can't remember a finals with both teams coming in with so much moxie and so much to prove.  Factor in that it's a revenge series for Dallas and LeBron's best shot at the long-coveted title.  This should be a finals for the ages.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger
PF: Pau Gasol/Al Horford
C: Yao Ming/Tyson Chandler

I think the MAVs can win this.

With these points in mind

Dirk is going to have to have several of those 40 + point efforts to offset LBJ .

KIdd is going to have to give Wade a decent defensive effort and score 15 points

Chandler has to shut down the inside attack .

Terry has to go crazy on the HEAT from outside.

Agreed.  The Heat are rightfully going to be favored.  Their two superstars have been absolutely nasty, and Bosh is starting to play like he's supposed to.  Add the fact that two of their most important role players, Miller and Haslem, are finally getting healthy, and they definitely look scary.

What Dallas has going for them is a lot of depth and shot makers that Chicago clearly didn't have.  I don't think Dirk will be able to maintain his pace against the swarming defense of the Heat.  He'll find a way to get his points, though.  I think the other two old dogs, Kidd and Marion, are going to be real keys for Dallas.  They have to keep making all-court, smart plays like they have throughout the playoffs.  Jet will need to get hot at some point.

Dallas can do the whole NBA world a favor if they can upset these guys.  I'm actually excited about this Celtics-less finals.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

Well if the Heat win and Spoelstra gets a ring then the theory of Phil inheriting rings cause of talent is justified.

I really think Miami has become THE most hated team in all of the NBA. I mean really hated. I have never seen so many fan bases from teams who are enemies literally join up together in wanting them to lose.
I have seen Celtics, Trailblazers, Lakers, Spurs, Bulls, Sixers, Magic, Thunder heck everyone congratulate the Mav fans and say they want Dirk to get his revenge.
I really think if the Heat win, Stern may lose a lot of money especially from some of these fan bases who feel them joining up will ruin the NBA and many are thinking of boycotting becuase they feel they have ruined the NBA. The Celtics in 08 didn't even get this response.
I obviously am going for the Mavs, but not because of the Heat per se, but because I just want them to win especially with all the trials and tribulations they've gone through as either a team or separately on different teams. Them winning will really be a Cinderella story. I hope they win though I'm really rooting for them.

Anyaways whoever thought Chicago has a chance should have seen the whole season and playoffs. I knew with them edging wins against Indiana they had no chance and I say that because in that series the Bulls slowly became exposed of who they really were. It just took Miami to fully expose them and make the world know they were just the Cavs 2.0. Boozer has played horrible in the playoffs and Derrick went Memphis on the team in the wrong time.
Besides that they have got to get a 2 guard and some more help. They will not win as Rose as their main offense and no one else to help in crunch time.

Also my mom saw LBJ's acting job on Rose and was mad about that even she said Chicago got some missed calls. Her and her friends were watching the game and they said the refs made some crazy calls against Chicago. She still said they choked though so in the end it doesn't matter. They lost their lead and could have won games.

I'm not looking forward to this.

The refs are gonna shower Wade with 3 and 4 point plays, let James do whatever he wants, and screw Dallas AGAIN>
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I am pretty sure this theory has been proven time and time again.

But failure to win with talent has also happened before.

Just look at USA Basketball.

Look at this year's Knicks.

Look at the Mavs from 2003-2004.
