Corey Brewer was in for the entirety of the Mavs' 17-4 run to close with the Lakers.

So uh . . . Corey Brewer > Jeff Green?  This is a guy who the Mavs got off the waiver wire, I believe.

The Lakers are going to need a lot more out of Andrew Bynum to win this series.

They gave up on feeding Bynum way too early. 8 points, 5 rebounds, and a -16 on the night. Dallas takes this series if he continues playing like this.

I wish the Celtics would've won, that would have made today much better, but hopefully they come to play AND win. Atlanta has surprised me by a lot. I never thought they would beat the Magic and would win game 1 in Chicago. Rose being MVP didn't put up an MVP show which shocked me. My question with Rose is that his strength is going into the paint and he knows it so why keep trying for 3's when they obviously dont go in. Go to your strength and get to the free-throw line like you know you can. I didnt watch because of school so that was my question.
Glad Dallas won especially because I thought the game was over by halftime because I thought the Lakers were heating up getting ready to win and takeover, but I was wrong. Hope they make this a series out of it along with Memphis and Atlanta.

Also when Chicago and LA loss their fans said it was just one game and that they'll be back and win the series, but some have the nerve to say the Celtics are cooked and won't win because of game 1 loss.

That's ok because Kobe got his 29 shots. lol

Lakers lose two straight post-season series game ones!

And thank the lord for this because I'm SO tired of hearing "the Lakers/Phil Jackson are undefeated* when they win game 1 of a playoff series!!!" after every time they win a game 1..

*I'm not sure on the stat, can't remember if they are undefeated or just have a really really good win/loss record in series where they win game 1.

Question about Hawks/Bulls. Do the Hawks or can the Hawks push the Bulls to the brink and take the series? Or do the Bulls get their act together and close the series out in 6 or 7? That's what I can't figure out...it's hard to get a read on this Hawks team IMO. They had a favorable matchup in Orlando, and now playing a struggling Bulls team.

Bulls underperformed + Joe Johnson had an exceptionally good game + Chicago chose poor defensive matchups against Crawford which freed him up for a bigger night than it should have been.

Looks more like a lucky win for Atlanta than a sign of things to come to me.

Probably true.  They had to make some ridiculous shots late in order to win the game.

One has to wonder if Teague limiting Rose offensively was a fluke or not.  If Teague really can give Rose a hard time (especially with that sprained ankle), then the Bulls might be in for a rough time -- particularly if Boozer continues to underwhelm.

Still, I expect the Bulls to win the series in 6.

Well, my philosophy is, all the "better" teams lost their Game 1's.

my thought exactly!! I was thinking of creating a thread about it, too...

Heat vs Celtics was by far the most anticipated series in this round and it would be a shame if all the other series go to 6-7 and the Heat finish us in 4-5... :-[

I think they might be able to take Chicago, especially if Rose is hurt.  And Rose really hasn't been shooting well anyway, so if he's hurt he might be even worse.

Would much rather have Corey Brewer.
