I have a feeling that the OP won't be posting again on this blog anytime soon...

I think we're close to finding Stern's mole on the blog...

LOL.

Seriously though...its not the mods...I think they were right to get ticked off when the OP called them stupid. But a handful of posts from very few "volume posters" do have scornful/mocking undertones...although the message they were trying to convey wasn't wrong, imo. People wouldn't need to be reminded of "internet - serious business" or "get a thick skin" if these very few "volume posters" showed a wee bit more respect to other members.
Not exactly sure how posting a cartoon of "Internet..Serious Business" or giving the advice to have a thicker set of skin is in the least bit disrespectful to another poster.

Actually, I would argue that getting advice to have thick skin while posting on the internet in general, is some of the best, most useful, most productive, most respectful advice you can get from someone you do not know. The internet in general is not a place where all your best buddies hang out together or where everyone is going to have the same opinion or be your friend.

Remember, just because someone doesn't have the same opinion and expresses a different opinion, it doesn't mean they are being disrespectful. I think that fact gets lost a lot by many who seem to want everyone to be best buds all the time.

Did I say posting "internet serious business" pics was being disrespectful? All I said was people wouldn't need to be reminded of such things if a little more respect was shown and maybe cut back a little scorn. It wasn't directed at you or anybody else in particular.

I appreciate the comments Barefacedmonk and I hate to disappoint others who thought I would just go away, but I won't.

Also, this thread isn't about me, and I have no interest in drawing attention to myself, even if a lot of people disagreed with my posts. That's fine.  Just so ya know I've been posting and reading this blog for at least two years but for whatever reason started this thread today.  Disagreements are what make a forum interesting.  A lot of people also agreed with the general ideas I threw out there and I am happy that there was a really interesting discussion on the forum, that went beyond the tired, "who's not going to dress in the playoffs."

Well I have a couple of stars, posted a 4 paragraph message at the beginning of this thread, and it never got responded too.

Off topic: Does anyone ever notice on this board that posters usually tend to respond more to high-volume posters who they already know, even when the comments are redundant, rather than notice posts from others who they may not know?

I have to say, that probably the reason my posts are not high, is I post based on topic.  I visit the board almost once or twice a day, but most of the times never post.  I do enjoy reading everything though, especially the ones that get the blood boiling.

Honestly though I have never had any inkling of this phenomenon that you are describing.  Personally I think its just another case of people needing instant gratification in our society, and not wanting to work for anything anymore

No. My favorite thing to do is try to look at things said by people with somewhere between 17 and 38 posts.  It's the only way to get great quality.  These are the ones that haven't had time to read the rules yet and say the fun stuff before someone grabs them, puts them in front of a TV and says "We are at war with Oceana. We have always been at war with Oceana!"

That was really fun to write.  :D

Haha.  With 3000+ posts, I think you're both a "volume poster" and a cool kid.  Welcome to the club.
