Uh, you're kind of a noob yourself. The only way for the Celtics to get Bibby anyway is to trade Wally and another backup, so if that doesn't happen, we won't be getting Bibby anyway and there's nothing to worry about.
EDIT: Still waiting for the "better way to trade wally" plan you announced and then couldn;t come up with...
Well us not being able to get bibby so theres nothing to worry about is pretty much the reality I'm trying to illustrate here. If you want to make a big deal about how we apparently need to get rid of Wally, fine. Just not for Bibby and a contract that is just as cumbersome.
Here are my "better way to trade wally" plans even though the post was about just not trading for bibby and not where wally stands with the team.
Trade 1: Celtics Bobcats
Boston Gets:
- Brevin Knight (vet pg./exp contract)
- Othella Harrinton (exp contract)
Charlotte Gives:
- Wally Sczerbiak
- Leon Powe

- Kirk Snyder (exp cont)
- Juwan Howard (vet)
- Bob Sura (exp cont)

Boston Gets:
- Sam Cassell (vet, exp contract)
- Zeljko Rebraca (exp contract)
L.A. Gets:
- Wally Szcerbiak

Trade 1
I'd do that, but why would the Bobcats kill any cap flexibility?
Trade 2
I'd rather keep wally than do this trade.
Howard is cooked, Sura has been cooked for his whole life. Snyder would be the 5th sg/sf. I don't know anything about Vassilis Spanoulis, but after watching the Rockets. He can't be any good. how can he NOT get PT for that team?
Plus why would the Rockets want another SF?
Trade 3
Cassel is the man, but he just turned 83 and he is in no way a better option than Mike Bibby.
Trade 4,
Brian Cook is absolutely a waste of space. Kwame is ok. But he has had issues gtting himself motivated. Great, lets sign him.
Trade 5
Ariza isn't going anywhere. They are going to keep him for a long time. Wally is the same player as Hedo Turkaglu. Do they need another poor defending small forward?
Trade 6
I dont see Toronto trading Calderon. THey like him and whats not to like?
The fact is Bibby fits in well with the C's. They are a slow it down team(they may want to be fast, but they aren't). They have two players who play in the post. Now do I think that Sacramento would take Wally? haha No chance.
I don't see wally getting moved before next year. Next summer we will be having the same convo.
