I really like Rondo, but I really hope he improves his game and consistency before I give up on him. Most frustrating player I've ever seen play for us because you know he should be playing 10 times better than what he's showing in the court.

Will wait to see how he does in the playoffs, but at the moment it's a constant frustrating performance.

And as much as I like him finding open man, I've never liked his passing skills. He needs to improve on his accuracy and timing more than he has.

Give up on him? Constant frustrating performance?

Every game? Maybe one or two in ten. Come on guys. Just one game ago, 16 assists to only 3 turnovers and 5 steals. Two games ago, 15 assists to only 1 turnover with 3 steals.

You like how he finds the open man yet do not like his passing skills. He definitely goes for the high degree of difficulty pass that 99% of point guards wouldnt even try. That is when he gets in trouble. He needs to cut that out of his game but trading him? Giving up on him?

I just dont see it.

Give up on him in hoping he improves to the level where I can actually praise him. But if a good deal comes along I wouldn't hesitate to trade him. He really hasn't shown me the capability to be a player to build around for the future, unless he transforms when he doesn't have all the talent surrounding him.

Assist totals don't impress me, particularly when playing against poor defensive teams. But again, he has a knack to find open men, which is not the same as delivering constant accurate passes and timing them well (though he has improved greatly in the latter this year). He does lob passes well though.

Thanks for clarifying.

Dont give up until you see him play post big 3. He is asked to play a specific role with this team. I think he has the ability to play other roles (scorer) if asked. Look at his numbers in the playoffs. Last year against the Cavs he was the best player on the floor and it wasnt really close (20.7 ppg 11.8apg 6.3 rpg 1.8 spg). The year before he averaged nearly a triple double over 2 series (16.7 ppg 9.8 rpg 9.7 rpg 2.5 spg) He has other dimensions IMO but doesnt need to show them with this team.

That being said I can understand your aprehension to annoint him the future of this team. I just think he has enough talent to figure out how to adapt. Give him a post presence and some good shooters who defend and I think we'll be okay.

Also a great reason why you can build around this guy is that we signed him for a very team friendly deal through alot of his prime.

In all honesty, production aside, don't you guys find yourself one game saying "wow Rondo is incredible", and then the next "come on Rondo you know better than this, when are you going to show up? Stop your man! Penetrate more! Shoot it! Pass it to Ray!".

And I think more than anything is constant effort and focus. So I don't know why we have to go into the details of his skillset. Isn't that what is frustrating, that you know he's skillful? Which is why it's hard to find another PG you'd rather have. Well I want this Rondo to play like a better Rondo.

rondo seems sad on the court. He said Perk was his "best friend", so it could very well be tied into the trade. His sloppiness with the ball has really gotten bad since the trade.

if his "best friend was playing last night Rondo would have had about 5 more turnovers with Perks hands

I hope you are being sarcastic because that is the lamest excuse ever if you're not

I don't have my best friend I am gonna pout and not be able to play without him, poor me

please....

Yes. But for me its not as often as you seem to be. The way he plays it is much mroe obvious when he plays bad than when he plays well. There are just too many stars on the team. You only notice when he puts up silly stats or makes a couple of spectacular plays in a row.

Maybe it would be helpful to have a Good Rondo/ Bad Rondo counter thread! Maybe Im wrong and he has more of these games than I realize and maybe yuo are wrong in thinking it happens more often.

I know what you mean you cant just do it with stats. It can literally be a gut check right after games. Was Rondo good tonight?

Whaddya think?

The only point guards that are in Rondo's neighbourhood are Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Steve Nash and Jason Kidd.

In my opinion, you only trade Rondo if you get Paul or Williams in return. Nash is unbelievable but age is a big question, and even more with J-Kidd. Chris Paul's health is an issue, also.

Derrick Rose is a 1-on-1 ballhog, as Tyreke Evans. He's no floor general, and I'd rather have Dwayne Wade. If Stephen Curry could learn how to be a pass-first PG, he would be a great player to get.

Russell Westbrook??? maybe.

I'm happy with Rondo.

Yeah, Chris Paul would be my pick for a Rondo trade if his health holds up.  I consider him the best PG and 3rd best player in the game after LeBron (best wing) and Howard (best big man).

I don't think Williams is an upgrade over Rondo, just a different flavor.  Nash and Kidd are out of the question as they are each nearing retirement.

Westbrook would not be worth it.  Love his intensity and athleticism but I think he's an unintelligent basketball player.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I am not ready to judge 3 years against 3 games
next 15 assist game and we all will be happy
He have been tryint to play too much And One lately
that transforms into waaaay to many turnovers
but when things count his D has appear

we will see

Unexcusable. I also don't have any issue saying that I can think of at least 10 point guards in the NBA I'd rather have than Rondo.

The Rondo hate is pathetic. He leaves it all on the court every game.

How many bad games has Pierce, Allen and KG had? To my count far more than Rondo has had. Considering what we're asking him to do he's more than just accomplishing things. He's lengthening the careers of 3 players. Quarterbacked us to a Championship. Missed another likely due to Perks knee injury. Guiding us towards a Conference Championship and maybe a finals title. Isn't a head case allowing the other 3 to get the headlines nite after nite.

I understand the calls from the belfry to move Rondo. I just don't understand it.

I'd really like to know who those 10+ point guards are...please.

Also it seems like for every bad game Rondo has, people seem to magically forget anything else he's done before that. He's going through a bad stretch, but he's been statistcally great all season.

-Derrick Rose
-Chris Paul
-Deron Williams
-Russell Westbrook
-Chauncy Billups
-Raymond Felton
-Devin Harris
-Jason Kidd
-Danny Granger
-Brandon Jennings
-Mike Conely

Oh by the way...if Rondo is sad about Perk leaving, then send him off to OKC for Westbrook. That way he can be with his buddy.
