For me, I'd rather lose a few games now and focus on the end game - which for me is full health come playoff time. The main reaosn is that I think if we are fully healthy, we will steam roll our way to #18, even if we don't have homecourt for the entire playoffs.

I don't think anyone even has a shot at us, if we're reasonably healthy.

I would have sat Baby and put pressure on everyone else, especially Krstic, Green and now Murphy.

I know you have play hurt sometimes, but with Green, Krstic and even Johnson avail since the Clip game, I wouldn't sat him and taken my chances.

I don't see any blessing here. I'm truly worried about BBD.

I wouldn´t call it a blessing, but there´s defnitely a bright side to look on, imo.

It opens up time for the new players to get integrated and find their rythm.

Completely agree... I dont know whats been up with Baby since the trades but he is taking way too many shots, not passing the ball EVER, and has been trying to play hero ball. For me personally, It'll be nice seeing the team work other guys into the rotation.
Since the trades??  Is that when you started watching him?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

You can't rest a player everytime he's hurting in the NBA. No one is healthy once you're just a a few weeks into the season.

Plus we know Baby hurts his knee last night. If they sit him to be super cautious and are now in third in the east or KG gets hurt playing more minutes what would people say?

That´s not what I meant.
To be clear, I hope that he´s back for the playoffs, because we need him. I also don´t have a problem with the way he plays. I can´t see any extensive ball-hogging. If you´re the go-to scorer of the second unit, and the big hoys trust your ability, you should shoot when you´re open, as far as I´m concerned.

What I meant is that there is a bright side to look on, so the term "a belssing in disguise" is not necessarily incorrect. A few games rest might do him a lot of good, and it might help our new bigs to get acclimated to the rest of the team, through more playing time under competitive circumstances.

Just saw this:

http://www.csnne.com/03/02/11/Davis-knee-leaves-game-will-have-MRI-Thu/landing_celtics.html?blockID=431866&feedID=3352

This intimates that Davis has been playing hurt for a while now: that last night was not a sudden development, but one that has been building for some time.

It sounds like he was hurt more then he was saying.

I hate that.

I want players to be honest with the team.  In the long term of this season, being healthy in the playoffs is worth a few short bench games in the season.

Nowhere in the article does it say that the team wasn´t aware of the issue, it simply points out that Baby was playing through the pain. Hardly a reason to criticize him.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I hate to 2nd guess people that do something for a living that I know absolutely nothing about...

but ht e medical staff on this team seems to be out of touch with this team's health

If this is true, it is hard to be in touch with medical issues if the player isn't upfront with the team.

How many competitve athletes are upfront with team doctors?

Most guys will lie. It is up to the doctors to form their opinion  based on their experience and education.

I work as an engineer in quality assurance and my job specifically is to make sure products are safe and reliable. Well every concept our marketing and design department put in front of me swears is safe and reliable.

It is my job to perform an analysis with the interests of the company in mind.

I understand it would help if BBD told them his knee was really bothering him but he did have a brace on so the staff was aware there was an issue. He probably needed the rest and should have gotten it.

There is this stupid misconception that he shouldn't have been on the floor late wasn't part of the bench that failed to pile on the lead. He not only led them out there, but he's getting a pass for something he's been know for since he took over an injured Leon Powe's minutes in 09.
