If Baby is out for any amount of time we all know where the last roster spot needs to go and it's not Powe.

Rondo/West/Bradley
Ray/Pavlovic/Wafer
Paul/Green
KG/Murphy (Baby)
Sheed/Krstic (Shaq/JO)

I was hoping that you were going to say Antoine.

Let it be known that i have never, ever been a Toine fan, and if ever there was someone who might try to be a hero and mess things up badly it is Antoine, still I think I would  sign him over Powe and depending on how much weight Sheed has packed on, with our tenuous bigs situation, I would seriously consider Toine for this Championship run.

Just saw this:

http://www.csnne.com/03/02/11/Davis-knee-leaves-game-will-have-MRI-Thu/landing_celtics.html?blockID=431866&feedID=3352

This intimates that Davis has been playing hurt for a while now: that last night was not a sudden development, but one that has been building for some time.

Him and Sheed are gonna play a game of 1 on 1 for the spot.  Whoever's less fat and takes the least 3s wins.

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels

It sounds like he was hurt more then he was saying.

I hate that.

I want players to be honest with the team.  In the long term of this season, being healthy in the playoffs is worth a few short bench games in the season.

Over the last few weeks particular, I've seen him reach for that left knee a little after some jumps or awkward landings.

Also, remember the post one guy did where Baby walks awkwardly back to the huddle after a dunk and it looks like he was playing around? But actually I think his knee stung and he was taking some pressure off it which looked awkward, it's like when you slightly twist your ankle and you look completely awkard for two seconds due to the short term burst of pain.

I am a little bothered we didn't just sit him a few weeks ago.

I understand we want to win and secure homecourt but...I'd rather have Chris Johnson playing heavy minutes and lose a few more games than risk an injury that could require 4-6 weeks of rest...

And with Krstic and Green having come on board since the Clipper game, we should have taken our chances riding those two healthy guys and put Baby on the shelf for 2-3 wks.

Do NOT rush Shaq back because of this eather. WE should eb able to win any game with Murphy, Krstic and Green right now. It would be good for all of them to be ridden heavily anyway ; get in shape, be force fed the system live, on the court in games.

Obviously I'm no doctor, but I tend to agree.  It's just surprising.  The team has been so conservative with injuries, and then they let a big, heavy guy play with a leg injury.

I've got to think that the medical staff told Doc and Danny that it wasn't likely to develop into anything major.

If this is true, it is hard to be in touch with medical issues if the player isn't upfront with the team.

I thought the exact same thing Scooby. That awkwardness we saw and the way his leg bent suddenly when he was trying to show excitement after getting the bucket, had to be all about this knee problem. The guy just doesn't get a break with people looking to criitisize. If he even touches his nose, someone will find something wrong with that.

Perkins played with similar tendonitis for the entire second half of the year onwards, missing games from time to time.

When we're already down to a three man front court in a walk year I'm not surprised Baby kept playing. You can't rest every time you're hurt.

He was obviously 'up front' with the team or Doc and KG wouldn't have known he'd been suffering all season!

It's possible that we didn't sit Baby BECAUSE we've been so conservative with injuries.  Between Perk, Semih, Shaq, JO, and also KG missing a few games, how many times have we only had 3 bigs able to play.  Without Baby's 30mpg we probably would have had to play small ball in any game that he sat.  Especially when KG was the only other guy who could play more than 20mpg due to health/foul trouble (until Perk came back).

Unless it was one of the few games we had KG, Perk, one of the O'Neals, and Semih (bet I could count those on one hand) could we really afford to sit Baby for a non-major injury?

No word on the severity of it yet?

He was supposed to get the MRI this morning I believe so we should probably be hearing something before tonight KG's results were the same day.

A few days ago, I said he was one of our few durables.
It's so disappointing to find out he's been hurt all year.

Please rest, Baby!!

I don't see any blessing here. I'm truly worried about BBD.

I wouldn´t call it a blessing, but there´s defnitely a bright side to look on, imo.

It opens up time for the new players to get integrated and find their rythm.

Completely agree... I dont know whats been up with Baby since the trades but he is taking way too many shots, not passing the ball EVER, and has been trying to play hero ball. For me personally, It'll be nice seeing the team work other guys into the rotation.
