Loved Perk, but I am not convinced he'll make a major impact in OKC. Perk was one of those guys who just fell into his role by default... we traded half our team for KG and Ray and Perk happened to be the lone big man left. He was never that impressive prior to that... he just happened to be a key cog in a system lead by 4 all-stars.
We made it to game 7 of the finals and lost, because we couldn't get a rebound. Ainge goes out and gets the top big man last year from OKC (Kristic), the top big man last year from Miami (Jermaine), the top big man last year from Cleveland (Shaq), the top big man last year from Indiana (Murphy)... and also takes the 3rd best player on OKC (Green) and the guy who I felt was the 2nd best player in the playoffs for the Cavs (Delonte)... Not a bad makeover. Aside from Murphy, they were all contributing to playoff teams.
Should solve our rebounding issues if a couple of the bigs can stay healthy.
Meanwhile, OKC gets an injury plagued big man whose ceiling is a slow, unathletic Ben Wallace. It's a good trade-off for us.
