Last season stats:
Sheed, 9 ppg on 41% FG, 28.3% from 3, 4.1 rpg (lol)
Murph, 14.6 ppg on 47.2ppg, 38.4% from 3, 10.2 rpg
That's a bit unfair, since Sheed wasn't interested (as the rest of the team) in the regular season. Sheed played so much better in the playoffs. Per 36 minutes, Sheed scored 14.4 points, and Murphy 16.1, not to say Murphy played for the powerful Pacers.
Back to Troy Murphy in green, I hope he helps keeping the O'Neals fresh until the playoffs, and then he can be a very good 3rd stringer/ decent backup behind Shaq.
But Danny's far from finishing the job, he still needs to take a good perimeter defender (hopefully Brewer) and some more help in the frontcourt. The Celtics need someone who is a good/great post defender, and Sheed can do that better than Krstic or Murphy. If someone like Dalembert or Camby was available, Danny would have to sign him, but its very unlikely. If Sheed doesn't want to pull a PJ Brown, then it's all about the O'Neals. And Powe could be a different kind of player who could help in certain moments. He's got championship experience, and that's important, as well as having healthy knees.
Welcome to the Celtics, Troy!
Go Celtics!
