Murphys a nice addition, but I don't understand why everyone is acting like we just landed Michael Jordan.

Danny still has more work to do.

This really convinced me

Troy Murphy HIMSELF confirms to ESPN.com that he is going to Boston. B-O-S-T-O-N

Was it a certified Troy Murphy, or an imposter? Im assuming a digital Troy Murphy called since there is no such thing as talking to communicate anymore.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Great pickup.

Looks like we are getting some legit depth in the front court. Now we just need the O'neals to get healthy. Kristic and Murphy seem to be infamously soft players atleast on the defensive end.

Marc Stein just trash talked Spears into a travel.

Post of the week, at least.

TPs all around - good times.  We are now just as deep up front as we were before the trades.

Hope Murphy can make it to Wednesday's game, I'd love to see him take on the Suns.

deeper actually!

More talent, but same number of guys:  Perk + Erden --> Krstic + Murphy.  Not counting Gody.

Erden slipped my mind!  Deeper if you count health I'd say....

But what about Pierce + Green + Kristic + Murphy is that greater than Perk + Erden + Pierce + filler for injured Marquis  (Probably Corey Brewer who we may get anyways).

I'd say yes due to health.  Plus, Green will actually play, meaning Pierce can rest during the regular season without hurting homecourt chances.  A scrub backup for Pierce and they'd overplay Pierce.....Now I'd like Brewer and a PG

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Who is next to sign his John Hancock?
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Like I said I'm almost happier that he stays away from Miami than that he's coming here.

But this move makes the Perk deal a lot more palatable too.  One more skilled guy up front, and one who can rebound and shoot the 3.  Plus 6 more fouls against Howard/Noah/Bynum.  The surprise roster makeover is looking a lot better now.

For me it's not about Murphy's greatness or lack of greatness.....it's about breathing a sigh of relief in terms of health..I'm so tired of knee problems and other aches and pains.

Not only am I surprised that Murphy chose us over the weather, but that Marc Spears was wrong and Marc Stein was right lol.

Corey Brewer would be fantastic.

That would give Boston three wings (Green, Brewer, Von Wafer) off the bench capable of playing minutes in the playoffs and four big men (Jermaine, BBD, T.Murphy, Krstic). Plus Delonte. 8 guys. All of whom bringing different skill-sets to the table. Lots of options for Doc.

Including the starters that gives Boston a 13 man deep roster of guys Doc can call upon in a playoff series.

I'd like to see Brewer here giving us incredible depth and more D at the 2/3.  A back-up PG is also priority only  because Delonte is so fragile. Otherwise, I feel good about DWest with spot minutes for AB.

Also -- and I've never said this before -- I want Rasheed.  Why?  If he is at least the Rasheed of last year, he can offer 5-10 (even just 5) solid minutes of 1:1 defense in the post.  That would be a luxury and worth the roster spot in my opinion.
