Yep 15/10 guy last year.   I think playing with KG will help him more.  D's often could ignore Perk on offense and back off Rondo to make him shoot.   Won't be as easy to do now.

anyone else feel like the bulls are the biggest challenge for the Celtics?
No -- Miami are the biggest challenger in the East + LA poses a bigger threat out West.

Not sure I agree with the speculation he won't contribute offensively, but the shape issue is a legitimate concern. However, I am really pleased Murph is going to be in green. I think this is a great fit.

Absolutely. The Bulls have one of the top PG's in the East, arguably the best in the East, and they have Thibs as the coach. Also cause of Boozer and Noah who are a force. I would fear Chicago before I feared Miami right now.

How is anyone still afraid of Miami after the Celtics effecively beat them with a hand tied behind their back last time they played them (albeit with Perk, who we won't miss that much in a 7 game series with these guys)?

Miami hasnt played to their potential this year. And LeBron is going away from what made him the player he is today.

Instead of charging over guys and getting to the freethrow line constantly, hes taking more jumpshots.

We are seeing a passive LeBron and passive Wade right now. In the playoffs they will go back to what made them great, charging over guys to get to the line.

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I have to say that I'm very, very surprised by this.  It's not that I didn't have faith in Danny, it's just that I thought Murphy would get more PT in Miami.

And quite frankly, if I was his agent, I probably would've told him not to come here.  As much as I love the Murphy signing, if JO and Shaq are healthy come playoff time, it's possible Murphy doesn't sniff the floor (and even possible that he isn't on the active roster).

Still, it's also possible he knocks Baby or Nenad out of the rotation and becomes a valuable piece.  And either way he certainly is very valuable as insurance.

So count me as one who is very happy.

I am amazed that Orlando didn't figure more prominently in this.

They offered, by far, the best opportunity for playing time and were the team that was the most desperate for another big man. Plus as a stretch four, he fitted their system.

Anyway ... major mistake by Otis Smith.

If by talent, you mean height...I guess

Yeah, such a career scrub that he averages 12 pts and 9 rebs for his career.  ::)

12 and 9 on lottery teams...big accomplishment

12 and 9. Regardless if he was playing for the worst or best team in the NBA, it's still NBA stats.

maybe Murphy was really coming to MIA, then this happened

Riley:Im glad you decided to join us. We need you badly and we really don't like to lose to the Celtics a 4th time.

Murphy:You lost to them 3 times? Well, thanks for the offer then, Im signing with the Celtics.
