murphy is a better stretch big than sheed was. he will make things tough for other teams

I hope you are right, that would be very very good

A much much worse defender though. It doesn't matter because this year we have an improved big Baby taking a lot of the crunch time minutes and Shaq and JO. So what we need out of Murphy will be less than what we needed out of Sheed.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I loved Brewer ever since I saw him play as a Gator, I won't forgett that championship game when he was chosen as the MVP. I love his D, but I don't think he is a must-get at this point.
Amazing job by Danny...

Good job by Danny. Now can we sign a PG? That would be the next thing to do cause of West and his injury issues.

Maybe we pick up whatever PG Miami might drop due to Bibby. Arroyo or Mario?

I'll feel comfortable about Murphy completely when other sites start to report it... so it's just ESPN.

I think they're going to drop Arroyo, even though I'd much rather have Chalmers.

I really would love to get Chalmers.

Agreed Chalmers would be a great addition but we'll see what happens when Bibby officially signs to Miami. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Mario.

  Is it too late though?

Good question.  A player has to be bought out by March 1st to be eligible for playoffs, but maybe that doesn't apply to players who are simply released due to buyouts....

I want to see it officially noted on Celtics.com before I buy into the euphoria.   I think he will play some Center for us at times.

I'm not sure. I assume that today was the deadline for players who were bought out but if a player is just waived and the team "eats the contract" I would think that they are fair game and could be eligible. Anyone know the rules better???

Players I believe can get bought out by 11:59 tonight.

This.

However, playing with KG should improve Murphy's defense.

Since Chalmers has taken over for Arroyo in the PG rotation they aren't cutting him.

Arroyo would be the one to go.

murphy is a pretty good rebounded though..that is always a plus..and he won't get technicals or be lazy in games

That's who they should cut too.  To bad I would have liked him to come here.

he was a 15/10 player last year for the Pacers right? Not expecting those numbers (unless Shaq especially remains unable to play), but he should more then make up for the rebounding we lost from Perk. We still don't have the same domination in the low-post on D, but adding Kristic and Murphy now gives us 2 far more dynamic scoring bigs, who will both benefit from playing alongside the big-four.
